Inflating USB Flash Drive
by Sze | Filed under Storage
Flashbag is a USB flash drive that its size changes depending on the amount of data it holds. The size will become bigger and bigger when you store more and more data. When the device is about to blow up you will see the familiar error message on your screen: “There is not enough free space”.
The Flashbag is only a concept right now but the designer, Dima Komissarov, has a patent pending on this device, so hopefully a company will pick it up soon.

It is like a big data tick or zit. I just want to pop it or something.
COOL!
i seen this for sale on
http://www.bilall.co.uk
I think it uses Faradays muslin bag concept to inflate
Wow, this is utterly pointless.
Somehow I can see it becoming a lame trend similar to an ipod…
it is really cute!
LOL…this is some silly doodie
Completely useless, going completely against the entire point of a flash drive.
It’ll sell loads.
I want one!
how big is it when it s inflated?
You could always put it in your underwear and max out the storage. Might help getting the lady’s at you. Haha
what if i sat on it if it was inflated all the way…
lol
you monkey turds. there shud be some meter like erm, energizer batteries where u squeeze two fucking points and it tells u how full it is.
I really don’t see the point in an inflating USB drive, and besides who would want to put a big bag of air in their pocket. What would be a really cool idea would be if the USB drive changed colour depending on how full it was. I reckon that’d be pretty cool/useful, espeically for people who have multiple thumb drives.
lol, wtf, thats just funny. nano tecnology….. yer.. like they will have that in a bloodt flash drive…it is probably an air pump and a bag full of air. is funny though. wot if you pop it?
rofl nano technology? its a bag of air you twit. And anyway, this item has hardly been designed with practiability in mind, its about style and i think its kool. Anyway who said you had to buy it?
Although it lacks function, it gives a new meaning to data. We are so used to things becoming smaller and smaller, data itself loses its meaning. It reminds me of a fruit that has ripened and ready for picking. Maybe it will make you think twice about having all of those pirated mp3s and consolidate your collection of music. It is just another way to make something non organic, react in an organic environment.
Mike-
I’m sure it has a tiny airpump to inflate it when it receives data. Hardly nanotechnology.
I hope you weren’t thinking that the physical size *enlarges* the data capacity…. that indeed would be ludicrous.
this could be one of those useless but interestingly weird idea’s…but hey, if its not to expensive its a 2 gig flash drive…
HAHAH i just think its funny
This is stupid, its like me coming out with an idea of flying cars, just because i thought of it doesnt mean it works.. I mean c’mon, atleast tell us how it works, it has to be advanced nano technology…
oh come on cant you see it s a cool device?
agreed, plus the entire concept is ridiculous: i want my flash drive to get SMALLER. why the hell would you want a device to get bigger and therefore LESS portable?
Thoroughly silly. Activate your hoax detectors, people.

Kinda cute, in an ugly way…
