Sony to start PS3 Component Testing

According to DigiTime, King Yuan Electronics Company (KYEC), a chip testing firm, should start landing PS3 chip testing orders from next week as to boost the company’s revenues.
Sources at equipment makers reportedly stated that KYEC has already started testing engineering chipset samples for the PlayStation 3. While the King Yuan Electronics declined to comment on specific orders from particular clients it is known that the chip testing house also undertakes testing of the graphics processing unit (GPU) for the PlayStation Portable as well as the I/O controller for the Xbox 360.
