Sharp adds four new models to its Widescreen AQUOS LCD HDTV lineup, the 52-inch LC-52D92U, 46-inch LC-46D92U, 42-inch LC-42D92U and 65-inch LC-65D93U. All of them are 1080p LCD HDTVs featuring Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 15,000:1, true 16:9 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution) Advanced Super View Panel, “FineMotion Advanced technology combines double-frame data interpolation and 120Hz frame rate conversion”, and a responese time of 4ms.

Latest Series of Premium Widescreen LCD TVs Produced at World’s Most Advanced LCD Factory Boast Industry’s Highest Contrast Ratios and Response Times

LAS VEGAS, NV, January 8, 2007 — Reinforcing its leadership position in LCD TV, Sharp today introduced four new Full HD 1080p AQUOS® models featuring ultra-high performance and convenience features. The D92 series, which includes the 52-inch LC-52D92U, 46-inch LC-46D92U and 42-inch LC-42D92U, features the most advanced version of Sharp’s true 16:9 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution) Advanced Super View Panel, produced at the company’s state-of-the-art, 8th generation LCD plant in Kameyama, Japan. Also joining these new Full HD 1080p AQUOS LCD TVs, is a 65-inch model that shares the same advanced features as the D92U line but offers a varied design.

The Advanced Super View Panel on the D92 series and the LC-65D93U provides an unsurpassed Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 15,000:1, producing the industry’s deepest black levels available today for exceptional detail in both light and dark scenes. Sharp’s proprietary FineMotion Advanced technology combines double-frame data interpolation and 120Hz frame rate conversion, double the traditional 60Hz driving speed, for even finer video performance. With the FineMotion Advanced mode, pixel response time is an industry-best 4ms, ensuring smooth, flowing motion in fast-action scenes and an overall immersive experience.

All three models in the D92 series and the LC-65D93U incorporate Sharp’s proprietary 5-wavelength backlight system that provides deeper, more vibrant reds and truer greens than previously possible.

A dramatic new design sets the D92 models further apart from the competition, with a high-gloss piano black finish and detachable speakers for the ultimate in convenience. The LC-65D93U features a high-gloss piano black finish with fixed bottom-placed speakers.

The D92 series and the LC-65D93U includes an unprecedented number of 1080p-compatible inputs including three HDMI and two component video inputs, each capable of passing through a 1080p signal. All three models in the D92 series and the LC-65D93U include a DVI-I connector that accepts a 1080p feed directly from a PC. The built-in RS-232C terminal enables integration with whole-house control systems, making this new model perfect for the high-end custom installation market.

The D92 series TVs and the LC-65D93U incorporate ATSC, QAM and NTSC tuners, giving consumers access to analog and digital programming available over the air and via cable TV providers. All four TVs offer expansive viewing angles of 176 degrees, allowing for ultimate installation flexibility.

Additional features include a 3D-Y/C digital comb filter to eliminate dot crawl and the moiré effect, and Sharp’s OPC Power Save feature, which automatically adjusts luminance to room brightness and lighting conditions.
