NotebookReivew has a review on the Alienware Area-51 m5790 gaming notebook PC. The Alienware Area-51 m5790 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600 1.83GHz processor, 2GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon x1800 with 256MB graphic card and a 80GB hard drive.
The Alienware Area-51 m5790 has also a 8X DVD+/-RW dual layer burner ,WiFi 802.11 a/b/g and a 17-inch LCD display with WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution.
Conclusion from NotebookReview:
As with anything, there is always room for improvement, but the few problems are vastly outweighed by the positives and this machine rocks. I would recommend this computer to anyone that is considering going with a semi-portable machine, suitable for all purposes.
Pros:
* Beautiful design and great build
* DVI port when most are still using VGA
* Excellent sound!
* Great processing power and video graphics
* High resolution (1920 x 1200!) glossy screen
* Runs quietly even at High Performance settings
* Integrated microphone was a nice surprise. It wasn’t listed on the website.Cons:
* Some keyboard buttons are annoyingly small compared to a desktop keyboard
* Mouse buttons are somewhat overly stiff
* Gets pretty warm on the surface
* 3 USB ports and Firewire port located on right side when most are right handed and use an external mouse there ( = cables get in the way)
* Battery life could be better
* Would love a built in Bluetooth option
* No Windows XP offering now, only Vista. Vista still has driver issues with your peripherals
