Verizon LG VX8700 Phone Reviewed
by Sze | Filed under Mobile Phone
LaptopMag has reviewed the LG VX8700 metal clamshell. The LG VX8700 has a 2.2-inch LCD display, a 1.5-inch secondary display, a 2 Megapixel camera, support for EV-DO and a microSD card slot.
LaptopMag says:
The lower-priced LG VX8600 is still our favorite bang-for-your-buck V CAST phone, but the VX8700 is worth $50 more for those looking for a combination of high style and substance. The 2-MP camera also helps justify the premium. Although some may balk at the lack of media controls and the internal memory card slot, we recommend this sleek silver clamshell for those who have the means.
PROS
- Sleek metal finish
- Sharp 2-MP camera
- Fast EV-DO performance
- Excellent voice call quality
CONS
- microSD card slot behind battery
- No media controls
- Design attracts fingerprints

also…UI menus work just fine…they give you the exact same features, just in a different way. Anyway, you can change it under settings…There are like 4 different menus to change from-so quit complaining–you just need to change it
I love this phone. I have one just like it. It takes great photos, but it has a quirky battery…It is soooo awesome every way else. It is the equivelent of an iPod with the V-Cast installed. I have had 2 others and neither have been as good..I recomend this phone. PS…It has great if not the same texting settings as a voyager or envy or whatever…
Though people say this is a copy of the razr (which SUCKS), it’s a bit better. The flip design isn’t as straight down like a razr, so you can talk while holding the phone on your shoulder, like a normal phone.
Voice quality is clear, good design ergonomically, buttons (though unfortunately very flat) are decently spaced for easy text messaging—UNLIKE the really stupid piece of CRAP Chocolate phone.
It’s comfortable to talk on, text, and hold. Screen is good size and clear resolution.
It’s really a shame that verizon standarizes its UI/menus, though. All of verizon’s stuff and UI look so outdated….looks like windows 95 shit. My only complaint is the menu and UI, which is verizon’s fault, not LGs.
Also, some better standard alert tones (for text msgs and voicemail) would’ve been really appreciated…..
good phone. looks very nice, has some good features but not as many as i would have liked. Battery doesnt last too long either which kind of sucks. i find that if i have it on all day it needs to be recharged at the end of the day.
