CECT P168 – iPhone Clone

You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

Hello I just recently purchased an Cect A88 after a bad experience with breaking my iphone twice and refuse to fix it again!!
I wanted to know how to do use t-mobile internet … its stating that an upgrade is required supposedly I have t-mobile internet for $9.99 on there … but I can not seem to access!!!
Whenever you have access problems, just call T-Mobile tech support. They will assist you with the configuration. They helped me with no qstn’s asked!

i’ve had this phone for about 6 months now.
the concept is great. i put my tmobile sim in one slot and my att sim in the other..i no longer carry two phones..this is the only thing that makes this phone fantasitic….the downfall of this phone is that unless your on speakerphone, the phone will either disconnect your call OR automatically put the call on hold…dont know why but it does…it didnt at first but after the first few weeks it started to do this.
to answer your question, yes, when i use the phone with only the att sim card inserted i can use all the att functions… the same with t-mobile….

I do not think China clone phones will work with 3G sim card.
3G and General GSM use different frequencies.

OMG! Are you people really paying that much for this phone? I payed $65.00 for mine, NEW on Ebay. I already had a phone with service through AT&T. Just put sim card in the I9-168 8gb, it works fine. Have not had a problem with it yet. As for the users manual, I downloaded it for free from the internet. If you can look around for a forum to help you with these problems, you can search for the answers just as well. And if you look hard enough you can even find the internet settings and proxy’s needed for your carrier.

I would suggest not to buy a clone. Not on a high horse or anything like that, its just a bad investment. You are paying a hundred to two hundred for what is essential a piece of junk. Buttons suck, its slow and rarely will it sync or work with other applications or itunes. I’d suggest to read some critics if you don’t trust just one and using your money on the iphone or an other phone with similar features that has some credentials not just some random Asian company. I feel you are 100% correct. I was trying to convince myself that I could get a good clone that would be similar to an iphone but I think I am only fooling myself in believing that these asian companies who I have never even heard of could put together a quality product.
Looks like saving up for an genuine Apple iPhone is my only real option!

I brought a CECT mobile phone, it worked really well for a month. Then the phone would not recharge. Apparently this is a common proble with this phone. Is there any way of having it repared?
If you didn’t turn the power off before charging, that may have damaged the battery or phone. The instructions says to turn off pwr before charging battery.

It is possible your sim card isn’t seated properly. I had to adjust mine about 8 times before it was in the right sweet spot for the phone to recognize it.
I’ve adjusted the sim card many many times and still it does not work. When I dial a number it says called failed. I don’t know what to do.
the same thing happened to me. all you have to do is call your carrier and give them the IMEI number that is located under the battery. they will program the phone properly and you wont have any more problems.
you have to put card with contacts up.
I have one of these phones. I have had it for several months now. I can use the phone for calls and text messages but I cant access the internet or anything else. I have it activated on Rogers here in Canada. I have asked them for help with the settings but nobody will help me being I didnt buy the phone from them even though I use their services. So this phone is of little use to me the way it is.
simple solution janice,call rogers from you land line,tell them you need them to send you the proxy settings for thier network to your cellphone..it will come as a text message to your phone,then simply add the proxy settings to one of the empty profile spots on your phone…that should work wonders for you!!

hi i am in edmonton alberta i bought mine off ebay and i have all the settings from rogers and its all hooked up it goes to the rogers mall but when it get ther i cant buy ring tones or go one face book or open emails nothing it says error or unavalible rogers can do nothing more for me and i am stumped aswell i love the phone it works great but i miss reading emails and going on face book if any one has the awnser i would love it too i would even pay to have some one make it work for me ….. i dont think they have atecnical suport line if they do douse any one no it ?
To navigate the internet using your CECT i 9 phone or CECT 168, you need to download a mobile browser like the java based opera mini browser and install it.
download it from here!

Then to use the internet, go to your main menu, select java, then select opera mini, it will then load up and give you the ability to browse the internet freely.

I have T-Mobile and I have gone to the configuration page that you suggested and I still cannot access internet. It still say GPRS not subscribed. I can send and receive texts now, but I cannot open MMS messages. I have a data plan on my T-Mobile phone and I was able to access the internet on my previous T-Mobile phone. I can get the MMS messages in, put after the phone trys to download them for viewing it just tells me GPRS not subscribed. I have the 168 mini. It is a Hello Kitty version that I got off of Ebay. I dont know if that info was needed but I hope it helps. Also is there any way to mute this phone at all? Like keeping the phone on but it doesnt ring or vibrate when you have a call come in? luis,try holding down the center button with the square thats printed in white.that should power your phone on,after that,do a hard reset by removing the battery for no less then one minute…it should work…

felix,have you tried doing a hard reset on the phone??which entails taking the battery out for no less than 1 minute..if you have,then you need to clear your handsets cache…im not sure how you do that just yet,but you should be able to search it under proxy settings…

ok,it depends on what carrier you are using.but what you need to do is search your carriers website for support,there should be a section for send an over the air installation of your carriers proxy settings for mms
