CECT P168 - iPhone Clone
by Sze | Filed under Mobile Phone, Smartphone.
You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

I have figured it out as far as the texting you have to have the # in there two times one to the sim and one to the phone the one of them has to be 1areacode and phone number to have the persons name show up instead of just the phone # then the other one has to be JUST the areacode and then the number (no 1) then the name not the number will show up when the person calls hope this helps someone else
thanks

A word of warning for anyone trying a factory reset. Do not poke a paper clip into the hole on the back of the phone that looks like it might be a reset button. It’s a microphone, the phone doesn’t have a hard reset button.

NEWS: several new phones
HI68(1:1 clone support shake control/JAVA/FM, dual SIM/dual standby)
updated LH01(Mini iPhone smallest)
T5 smart phone(Windows 6.0 support GPS and WIFI)
….. will update soon
March 25th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
We have the updated LH01 from manufacturer.
Visit us at http://www.bluelans.com/
March 25th, 2008 at 4:50 am
My supplier in China for the LH01 has tested 10 of the 850 band version and 6 of them were not working correctly. I have been told it will be a few weeks before they have a stable version of the 850 version of the LH01. For now, the only verified Chinese phones with the 850 band are the P168 , the A988 and the TV666, which had problems when they came out as well.
March 24th, 2008 at 4:41 am
We have CECT LH01 and just post a video on YouTube.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=bHuBOsLhLQo
March 24th, 2008 at 3:58 am
The LH01 is not related to the Hiphone in any way - they are from completely different factories. The A88, LH01, P168 and Hiphone are all from a different factory and a different company. There are many factories in China making iphone clones. The A88 is from a very small factory/company. The LH01 is from a larger company. I have heard that a flash update is available for the A88 to activate the 850 MHz band on it but have not verified this yet. I will have a flashed sample in about 8 days to test again. Once I have tested the new software version of the A88, I will post here with results.
I will have the LH01 very soon as the 850 version was supposedly only released yesterday and will post a new video on YouTube with the other videos so you can see the difference. The P168 850/1800/1900 is still the most stable as new phones seem to be a bit buggy.
The good news is that more phones with the 850 band seem to be arriving on the market if they can get one to work…..

Wendy - I am sorry but once again, someone else is posting under my name on this page, probably the person with the comment above yours. This has happened before. It is easy to post as any name. I do not take phones back that I did not sell. I do recomend that you contact your seller if the memory card is nnot recognized, as that can be the phone or the card.

Hi everyone…
I just recently bought the iphone clone aka P168 and I like it so far because I can use it with T-Mobile but since I don’t have a lot of money to get a T-Mobile plan right now because I’m helping my parents out with money problems I currently have T-Mobile Prepaid and I was wondering if anyone can possibly help me out by letting me know if I can STILL access the internet with T-Mobile Prepaid? And if so how? Because I did all of the following info listed above and my when I try to goto a website it says “GPRS NOT SUBSCRIBED” just like the person above me is having problems with…. But if someone can PLEASE help me out by letting me know if I can gain internet access through T-Mobile Prepaid and if so how I would really “REALLY” appreciate it!
Thanks again!
March 20th, 2008 at 7:57 am
It is WM6 compatible?
March 18th, 2008 at 9:19 am
Hi, Marco,
P168( ) doesn’t support JAVA. There is no way to install more applications (& game) on it now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will have a new released HiPhone. It’s 99.99% like iPhone. I’ll test the 850 band and let everyone know.
March 18th, 2008 at 7:06 am
I live in canada, i have had this phone for about a month on Rogers and it works get just put my sum card in a read it right away!.. just a quick question it only came with 1 game any way i ca get more games for this phone thanks.
March 17th, 2008 at 10:38 pm
If you’re still having trouble accessing the internet, downloading pictures, or getting a message of “GPRS NOT SUBSCRIBED” when you’re sending MMS, you have to setup the GPRS and WAP function. You can just borrow the fuction from NOkia.
automatic setup for your P168
Go to this page http://www.nokiausa.com/A4410019 and click on Get standard settings and select the model of the phone 2610 , read the instructions step by step, this is going to setup your WAP/GPRS and MMS automatically.
After that make sure you have selected AT&T or Medianet as your default GPRS and MMS account.
For AT&T when stup please choose AT&T (Former Cingular) as your provider.
I recieved my little headphone adapter from Zydaglo and it is an interesting little piece of hardware. First of all, the headphones that came with my phone was crap. One earbud was longer than the other, and it gave out after about a week. I ordered a new one from Z and lo an behold, both earbuds are of equal length! Most excellent! What I was hoping for was more volume from them. I am guessing just about everyone here has that problem, or is it just me?
My phone’s speakers are louder than the earphones even when the earphones are cranked to the max. But, when I have the phone playing as loud as I can get it and try to plug in the earbuds, I hear a brief loud blast from the earbuds and then it dies to a small trickle of sound. Does anyone here know how to change that? I have used the adapter to use my own earbuds, but I want to also use the mic to take and make a call when I am driving. That sucks!
The fun I did have with my phone’s MP3 player and the new adapter from Z is that I bought a cassette-styled adapter for my car’s ancient cassette player. I pop the thing into the cassette player and then plug the exiting wire into the adapter I bought for my phone. Voila! I am now listening to my phone’s MP3’s through my car stereo system! Nice sound quality, too, although I suppose it is much better if your car is not a 94 Crown Victoria.
I can always plunk down about $80 - $90 for a new car stereo that has the MP3 wiring built in so all I have to do is plug its wire into my phone adapter or any other MP3 player, but oh well. What would be nice is if we could use our Bluetooth function to play the music directly through the phone into the car stereo. I suppose car stereos have not thought about this yet, so if they do and you see one, either let us all know or tell me so I can sue them for stealing my idea.
That is my next step with my phone, setting up the Bluetooth so I can swap info from my phone to the computer or to and from other phones. I figure if we all have this fun new technology, we all better take advantage of it, right?
OK, I have taken tons of time to go through the mausoleum above to get T-Mobile and Vodafone info and I don’t feel like skimming through for Bluetooth set up. Can anyone hook me up with that bit of info please? Or do I need a Bluetooth earpiece first before I can set it up? Just checking.
Thanks you all!
(don’t forget to put P168 info in the Subject line if you plan on dropping me an email. Otherwise, I will read it all here so we all can share)
