CECT P168 – iPhone Clone

You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

the only thing i can’t figure out,
how can i dial extension number when i am already in call, because when i am in call i press the dialup button to access the dialpad but it doesn’t come up,
what is the reason,

Take the card OUT OF YOUR PHONE then format it with the adapter IN YOUR COMPUTER. If you format it in your camera, you will lose half the capacity. 2 gigs will be 985.XX gigs and so on.

carlo and solo i had the same problem. i took an older roger sim card from a friend and tried it. next thing i know the phone works fine. the problem is rogers upgraded their sim cards (version 4000)and they dont work well with the cect. you need to find an older sim card(version 3040). have rogers transfer your info from the card you have now to the older version 3040 sim card. you will find these numbers on your card.i had also tried a fido sim card and the phone worked perfect. good luck..

NO WIFI Only Support up to 1 GB with TF cards……….
can anyone tell me if the phone uses microsoft outlook for the calendar and contacts and tasks, etc? that is my main concern. while i do take my computer with me to court there are times when it would be easire to pull out the phone and not wait for the computer bootup, and add in a few new court dates. the iphone is to darn expensive and the software is not compatable.
and does it have wi-fi abilities? that is not a deal breaker but it would be nice.
if anyone knows about the ms outlook please e-mail and advise.

and some traders tell that support java…and other that dont support java applications….finally…support or not??

I haven’t bought a phone from them but have bought other stuff from the deal extreme site (link above).
The site says it comes with an instruction manual and I have had good experiences with other products I have bought from them.

there are probably many more places but the thing is that most of them don’t have a manual, and are not very good quality – it pays in the long-run to go with a reliable source over a cheap source… i would definitely go with an American company that provides adequate accessories like manual, and extra accessories. DigitalRise D718i looks like it has the most functions of all of the iphone clones so I’d probably have to recommend:

I just got mine from ChinaGrabber and it is BETTER than the p168… it is the Digitalrise D718i iPhone, has several more features and comes with silicone case, travel pouch, lanyard strap, and most importantly an ENGLISH manual (did some research and the cect clone has not english).. No one can tell me how to connect to the internet with this phone. I have a smart phone internet account package through AT&T or cingular. They weren’t able to help. The phone manufacture does not have a contact number or internet site that I can find. The phone doesn’t want to shut off using the key pad. The center key pad does not seem to be functioning. The manual that shipped with this phone is for a different model. Ebay sellar has not replied.
My supplier is sending another phone back to me. But I suspect if the firmware is not wompatable with rogers, I will have the same shutdown when receive call issue.
I wonder if anyone here can direct me to change the firmware on this unit to an older version, that supports Chinese ?

It’s NOT the phone. I have T-Mobile and AT&T (Cingular) and have had no problems what so ever. The phone is better than I expected. Just because you have problems, don’t knock the phone. Have either of you tried another carrier?

the Cect p-168 not work good i have same problems in my country with cingular lost signal all time dont waste you money
Cect p-168 is a piece!! Won’t work right with my friends cingular or my cellular one and we have the quadband versions! He loses signal all the time and i can’t receive calls correctly. Don’t waste your money.

Hey Carlo, has your problem with this phone resolved ? I have the same problem, I can call but cannot receive call, the phone will restart.
I return it to the seller and they said it work fine with their network, they claim is my network’s problem. But I use Rogers, i am sure most ppl use this phone in Canada, uses Rogers or fido. so I cannot see that its my network’s problem.
