CECT P168 - iPhone Clone
by Sze | Filed under Mobile Phone, Smartphone.
You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

can anyone tell me how to download videos to my P168. I am using Windows Vista. My computer shows it as a MT6227, an wen I Google that, I am looking at modem downloads.
I can get the video to show up in the memory, but I can’t play it or move it. When connected to my PC I have no video files or music file, yet I am able to play music I loaded to the phone.

Have a problem with my CECT P168 . Had it only less tahn a month ago. I change the mini sd card that came with it with a sd card that has some movie on it that i downloaded from the internet. The movie didn’t play due to file not compatible. Took that sd off and put back the other one. I charge it overnight and in the morning i notice that it was off. Tried to turn it on but it won’t. when i disconnect the cable it just turn on automatically and shutsdown with a “Low Battery Shutdown” warning and this just go on forever. My suspect is a bug from that movie. Any help, desperately need one. I love the phone and i would like to bring it back into its operational state.

The LH01 has been tested - I will have the Y32 on Tuesday to test and then will know but have spoken to others who have tested it in the 850 and claim it works. I never trust it until i personally test though.
April 27th, 2008 at 7:37 am
Hi Zydaglo,
Thank you.
Do you test Y32 for 850 band?
- sue
April 27th, 2008 at 5:59 am
Sue -
If you have AT&T - get either the P168 or the LH01 with the 850 band. Both come in 2 versions, one with 850/1800/1900 and one with 900/1800/1900. The new Y32/sciphone will also be on my site at http://www.zydaglo.com in a few days and it has JAVA on it so you can load programs. That one will cost more but is a quadband.

Cora,
I tried and tried, and finally was able to upload music using Mac’s iTunes program.
I am using windows Vista and found that if I plug the USB into my P168 while on, I get a beep and the phone shows up with MASS STORAGE highlighted. I press the highlighted area and I get my phone to show up on my PC.
I then open my iTunes folder, where I have my music stored (didn’t work with Windows Media Player)
I choose 1 tune at a time and drag and drop into the phone’s music folder. After I was finished I closed out the ifone folder, unplugged the USB cord and turned off the phone. When the ifone was powered back on, the music only showed up on the memory card and I was able to play it form there.
Not sure what I did next, but I was searching the memory and suddenly, the music showed up in the Media Player.
Hopes this helps! If any one else has ideas on how to make it work with Media Player, please speak up.

I just received my P168 and I have to say, I am impressed, as is my partner, who just bought a Palm Centro.
Mine came ready to use with AT&T, all I did was put my SIM card in from my other phone and I was off.
I noticed that it does take a few seconds to recognize some of the features and I am still not sure how my uploaded music got to the AUDIO PLAYER, but non the less, they did get there.
I just uploaded some photos and they are not in the picture viewer, yet, however they are on the memory card.
Can anyone help me with email and the internet?

Hey guys: I’m with ATT. 2 days ago I was in the same position as you Keith. Above is THE SOLUTION to the problem of Internet/pics on messages; bad thing is this phone doesn’t support Java so you’ll find out that is limited as far as downloading programs/services to it.
PS: I’m a rookie with the phone and learned this solutions last night, works perfectly. If someone can suggest any goodies for the phone please post.

Keith… if the suggested settings are correct, what that usually means is that you mistyped something. I highly suggest that you call their tech support and have them send you the settings if they know what they are for the P168. You might try going over the settings very carefully to make sure you did type them correctly. One small mistake can kill it.
If it’s any consolation, I had the same trouble getting Tmobile to work… bob

Hey keith I’m with att also. I am having the same exact problem. I just keep checking back on this site hoping someone comes up with a solution.
April 19th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
… sorry… thought I had read that u had TMobile… don’t know anything about ATT. At this point, TMobile’s tech support seems to know about the 168. Maybe ATT does also. I’d call their Tech Support and ask them to send the settings to the phone.

April 19th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
ok keith… here’s what I did to fix the same problem: (it’s posted above)
Hi… issues w/ T-Mobile MMS & email now solved:
(also figured out Handsfree operation)
Configured my CECT P168 selecting Motorola MOTORIZR Z3 as the phone type
—->>>>use this phone selection to send settings via the T-Mobile Wireless Configurator
URL: http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/phonefirst
**did Picture Messaging (MMS) and t-zones (WAP)
**can now send & receive MMS (tested)
**—>email works via t-zones:
ENTER
Menu Key–Entertainment–Services–WAP–Homepage–Go to
T-MobileWeb–Email & IM–My Email–Inbox
**note that websites which can handle handhelds start w/ wap or m
such as wap.google.com or m.google.com
===============================
Handsfree:
Once call connects, press Right Hand Soft Key; this brings up a menu
selection in the lower right screen corner.
Press this selection to turn on Handsfree.

Hello all, I just received my iclone phone (8 G60MTL touchscreen) I guess all in the same family, and I was wondering if (and how) you can change the ’sms message’ tone?? Now I have 10 pre-installed silly tones and would like to use my own. With a phone like this you would think that would be possible??
If anybody is able help me on this……much appreciation goes out to you =)
Thanks!!
April 19th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
the picture is only 32K and its use to say check GPRS or sumthin and i fiddled with sum stuff and now it just says downloading forever at 0% and then and error message pops up saying message download failed what do i need to do to my settings?
April 19th, 2008 at 9:06 am
Keith… the above suggestion may or may not solve your actual problem. What do you mean by “won’t let me receive my pictures”? Do they try to download?? I had exactly the same problem trying to receive pix from my wife’s phone and the problem was that the pix were too large! The P168 has a 97K pix size limit. Beyond that, it won’t receive the pix; it ties but gives up. Is that your problem or do you get an error message when you try use MMS?? If so, what is the error message??
