CECT P168 - iPhone Clone

You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

HI I just bought this phone off of Ebay 2 weeks ago and it is fabulous. However I went to bed and when I woke up this morning the touch screen is not responding. I have connected it to the PC removed the battery called the phone and it receives calls. There doesn’t appear to be anything wrong other than the touch screen not responding, I can’t even unlock it. Is there a master reset button? I don’t know what to do I hope someone can help thanks.

I just got a Cect
and it says that my GPRS isn’t working, but I pay for internet and all that through T Mobile.
How do i fix this???

I ahve never heard of crack just “appearing” - try to reseat the memory card to see if it will work. You can reset to factory settings with code 1122. It sounds like you damaged the touchscreen somehow…

I just bought cect p168 it worked for a few days then when I tried to download music to the 2GB micro SD card I got a message that there is no card. A few hours after that the screen stopped reacting to my touch, so I cannot slide to unlock the phone I also see small cracks appearing on the screen. I can receive calls but nothing else. HELP.

To configure Internet and MMS go to

Have you used one?
There are a lot of bad reviews on it.
Apparently some have had trouble getting
it to work with At&t 3g sim cards, which is what i have.

There is no “officail” website, only sellers like myself who get them from China in bulk. I sell them and hope that I am considered to be reliable. No matter who you buy from, use Paypal for your protection.

Chris, there is probably water damage to your phone.
P.S. I found out what was wrong with my cect, when it said “EMERGENCY” at the top screen and wouldn’t send texts, the SIM CARD needed to be updated, I’ve seen a few people encounter this problem as well, so I hope it helps! Love my phone!

hello… i own a cect p168 and i had no problems with it,until it the een turned black but the the rest of the butttons remain on…. i have to remove the battery to get started again… but now the phone will turn on and it will say bluetooth and go back to the screen going black… ive tried switching the batteries and connecting the phone to the computer but i ma not able to fix my problem can anyone help me please……
i am thiking of buying new batteries and a bew charger has anyone tried that?!?!?!

I just purchased the cect p168, and it was working fine, until I was messing around with it, and now it has limited service, won’t let me send text messages, and says “EMERGENCY” at the top of the screen. PLEASE help me out, I love this phone in many other ways!!! Thank you!

For anyone who is getting the “Invalid sim” problem
The solution is simple , after days of trawling the net for a solution i figured it out myself by ripping the receiver module to bits , the reason why you get invalid sim is because the phone cannot operate 2 simcards on the same frequency , i.e. o2 and vodafone (uk) both work on gsm 900 and you cannot use them together but if you use a t-mobile and a o2 or a t-mobile and vodafone they work fine because t-mobile works on 1900gsm !! , slight design flaw methinks!

Melissa… in a case like that it’s usually related to a bad connection. Make sure that the battery is being inserted in the correct direction and that the contacts on both the phone and the battery are clean. It doesn’t take much dirt to make a bad connection. Two hrs for an initial charge is not surprising. The light should turn green shortly.

Memory status - mms messages - I keep getting available space issues with mms messages and do not know why. The phone is supposed to be 2 gb and the sd card is 2 gig but it keeps giving me space issues with 32k mms messages? The question has been asked a few times but I have yet to see an answer when skimming. hopefully I did not miss it because I would hate to contribute to the pointless conversation. Any suggestions -

I’ve read through all of this (I think?) and I didn’t see my question or answer. Sooo….
Just got the P168. I’ve charged one battery. Inserted it into the phone, along with my SIM. Tried turning it on. It will not turn on.
I’m charging the 2nd battery now, it’s been charging for about 2 hours, and the charger light is still red. That seems kind of odd to me.
But regardless of the 2nd battery, my phone will still not turn on. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank you =)

This is how you add the senders name to your messages in your inbox
This is a bit drawn out but it is the only way to do it at the moment until we hear of a quicker way
Click on the message
option
scroll down to use number (12)
OK (you should then see the number)
option
save to phone book (2) but do not click on this instead go to
save to sim
Click on name
Write name in
option
ok
done
yes to save
Keep clicking back to message and it should show the name you have put in

Steve - you need to enter country code on the contacts number in your phone book in order for their name to show when they call or text you. So for example, enter 447********* etc… a pain, but it works for me.

I just received my p168. This foram has helped me with a lot of questions I had. Only question I have now is when making a call I can’t hear anything. Other person can hear me but I can’t hear them. I see there is a small Bluetooth icon on the top LCD screen and I believe this is the reason I can’t hear anything. I can hear the person in speaker but I also need to be able to hear them regularly without speaker. I set the “General” setting for ring tone and still nothing. Please advise how do I fix this so that I can hear people when calling. Btw I don’t have a Bluetooth. Thanks

Yes, i’ve had my p168 since the first 850 version came out, still works fine!
