CECT P168 – iPhone Clone

You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

I have answered a few questions here, even recommended a few particular sites for others to order from, and yet, I have never once received an answer to any of my questions.
I have a P168 and used the settings I posted a few posts ago, and I can not use the MMS feature on this phone. It is set up with AT&T and I have upgraded to unlimited internet access, the same package they offer for the iphone.
So, what am I doing wrong? I know I have a POP mail account, so I am using the MMS to send to other cell phone numbers and email addresses. I get a message “ERROR IN COMMUNICATION”
aNY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!

Everythigng on the cinamanual site is found free in forums and on the internet, including the softare and they charge for them. I wouldn’t pay for free stuff…..

Hello.. there seem to be many P168 headset adapters but I can’t seem to find one to allow me to use my cellphone headset with boom mic. This is the standard cell headset which has a 2.5mm plug and fits most cellphones and cordless phones. Has anyone found such an adapter? The 3.5mm ones seem to be for std stereo headphones (i.e. no mic); adapting them w/ a 3.5/2.5 adapter won’t work since they don’t have the pins for the mic.

Very strange thing happened. Last night I connected the phone to the computer to charge over night nad this morning the internet worked with the setting as described above!
Now seems that only the MMS isn’t working.
Any advise??

Hi.
Just received my new P168 with Java.
So far I am able to get most functions working!!
After I slipped in the SIM card, the phone connected and I could call out, receive calls and send and receive text messages!!
After much frustration, I was able to upload music from itunes, although, I found the USB cable to be very loose at the phone input. My Windows Vista computer could not find the phone at first, so I tried many things… the one that worked for me was to plug in the cable to the computer 1st, then, with the phone on, but not unlocked, plug it in.
I uploaded just to the phone itself, without creating any folders and after I turned the phone off and then back on, all my music was available in the audio player list!!
I do have 2 problems:
1. For the life of me, I can’t seem to get the “EVENT” alarm to work. After entering everything I want, time, note, etc.. I go to save it with the alarm set to “ON” and when I save it, I get a message, “ALARM OFF”
Any ideas what I am doing wrong??
2. I have done all of the following 5 times and I still get a message “GPRS NOT SUBSCRIBED”

6.Edit Homepage to http://device.home
7.Edit Data Account to the Name you established in the First Step
8.Edit Connection type to HTTP
9.The IP address is 066.209.011.032 and the port number is 8080
10.Edit Username to WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
11.Edit Password to CINGULAR1
Select back or done
Select Activate Account
Any ideas on this???

I have the phone and I’ve had it for a couple months now. However, now it won’t charge.. and if I keep trying.. the apple charge just flashes about every 10 seconds and then stops.
How can I fix this and can I buy a new charger anywhere?

My ATT 3G works fine of the P168C. Tmobile is the one with problems because their 3G uses a new band.
Is it true that the P168 can not use the AT&T 3G SIM card????

HEY PEOPLE: It seems like majority of the question that have to do with service problems are do to the fact that you maybe trying to run the P168 on 3g sim card, that’s NOT compatible. You may need to purchase another sim card that is 2G or even 1G from your provider. Also check if you P168 runs on the BAND your service provider has you in. TRI=900,1800,1900, most use phone run on a 850 although 1900 is becoming very popular. those 2 things you need to look at if you live in the US. I am not a seller and I haven’t bought my CECT A88 3 models ahead of the P168 but I have done my homework and thought I HELP OUT! I hope this helps some of you out there.

I have a new LH01 can’t get it to recognize any network. I tried engineer code *#3646633# doesn’t work. Can someone please help me set this phone up. I have AT&T and the version I bought was 850/1800/1900. This is very frustrating.

Hello, i have a p168, my problem is that i cant access the mass storage device unless i use the usb cord, and now when i use the usb cord the mass storage is not coming up, when i try to charge my phone it wont charge from the usb cord now, but when i use the wall charger it will charge the phone, my question is how do i get access to my mass storage device without using the usb cord, i go to file manager and it only shows the phone memory not the 1gb flash card that i have movies and music on. Please help u think it could be the battery or what, i should be able to access the mass storage without pluging usb cord right, please help

how close are they the the real IPhone, can they pass… what is the difference?
had the phone working and suddenly it is unable to read the SIM card.
I have tried cleaning both the card and the contacts in the phone with alcohol and still I get The no SIM card message.
I have no bars, no Bluetooth and no calling capabilities. I have tried using the factory restore and still nothing.

I have never seen an 850 band N88. The P168C is a good phone if you get the 850/1800/1900 band and not the 900 band version – it is not a quadband. The i68 is not bad but the i68 is out this week and is better. The new M88 is best with quadband, windos 6.0 and wifi. Has anyone purchased the A6 based on the fact that they are touting it as a Quad Band? If so, what has been your luck with getting it to recognize signal? As it happens to be, I purchased one thinking the engineering code would be the same as the p168 but it’s not. Now I have a phone that recognizes the sim but not signal. Anyone have any insight, Engineering code for band selection, etc? Thanks.
