CECT P168 - iPhone Clone

You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

I just got a Cect P168 used. So far the phone is awsome. I have T-mobile and I dont have any problems yet except,, what is the default security code? I want to do a master reset. Also what format does a video have to be to play on the phone? Thanks alot

I had the same problem and this is what I did and now I can send and receive pictures. My service is also t-mobile so here it is..Follow step by step:
Data Account Setup:
From the Main Menu select > Services > Data Account > GPRS
Scroll to an empty account (IE: Account
and select Edit
Set Account Name to T-Mobile Internet
Set APN to internet2.voicestream.com
Leave Username and Password blank
Press Done
Select Yes to Save
WAP Profile Setup:
From the Main Menu select > Services > WAP > Settings
Select Edit Profile
Scroll to an empty profile (IE: Profile
and select Edit Profile
Set Profile Name to T-Mobile Internet
Set Homepage to http://www.t-mobile.com
Select Data Account > GPRS > T-Mobile Internet
Set Connection Type to HTTP
Leave Proxy blank
Leave Port blank
Leave Username and Password blank
Press Done
When Prompted to Save select Yes
Scroll to T-Mobile Internet and select Activate Profile
To Access the Browser:
From the Main Menu select > Services > WAP
Select Homepage to bring up the homepage
Select Enter Address to browse other pages
To setup Picture Message (MMS)
Create Data Account
Select Menu
Select Services
Select Data Account
Select GPRS
Choose an empty profile
Account Name enter T-Mobile WAP
Press Options
Press Done
APN enter wap.voicestream.com
Press Options
Press Done
User Name
Password
Auth. Type choose Normal
Press Done
Press Save

Select Messages
Select MMS
Select Message Setting
Select Server Profile
Select a Profile
Select Edit Profile
Select a profile
Choose Edit Profile
Rename Profile enter T-Mobile MMS
Homepage enter http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
Press Options
Press Done
Data Account select GPRS
Select T-Mobile WAP
Connection Type select HTTP
Proxy Address enter 216.155.165.050
Port enter 8080
User Name
Password
Press Done
Activate the profile
Good luck..Also I noticed that when I did that my phone didn’t lock cuz I had the GPRS on always so make sure to put it on “when needed”

All of the CECT phones I have had were labeled on the inside and identified as “iFOE MODEL N:XXXXX”
This is labeled:
iFOE MODEL NO:P168
GMS Quad-Band Digital Mobile Phone
850/900/1800/1900
If it is not a CECT, then who’s is it? CECT is the only company I know of that makes a P168XXX

That phone appears to be the SciPhone i68 or the i9. CECT does not make it and it is not the P168, which has 5 buttons.

I just added photos of the screen of my P168 to my auction, and as you can see, there is a JAVA Icon in the lower left hand corner of the phone (right side looking at the photo)

Hi Dakota,
This was posted in the AT&T Forum for CECT P168 at AT&T Manage your account, on the far right is support, click that, at the top of the next page there ar 3 boxes to type in your question, leave the first 2 blank and in the 3rd, type in CECT P168 internet and MMS, there are many questions and many answeres there.
Here is one that didn’t work for me. Also the settings I posted were found in that forum. It took me many tries to get connected, as I had entered the wrong number in the set-up.
automatic setup for your P168
Go to this page http://www.nokiausa.com/A4410019 and click on Get standard settings and select the model of the phone 2610 , read the instructions step by step, this is going to setup your WAP/GPRS and MMS automatically.
After that make sure you have selected AT&T or Medianet as your default GPRS and MMS account.
For AT&T when stup please choose AT&T (Former Cingular) as your provider.
Also, you have to have more than MEDIA NET.

I had that problem a few months ago with a CECT A88. It was a tri-band - 900/1800,1900 (?) and my provider, in my area, AT&T worked on an 850 band.
When I got my new Quad Band P168
(850/900/1800/1900, as soon as I put my SIM card in, the SMS worked immediately, and once I used the setting I posted a few weeks ago, the MMS and internet worked spot on!

Hi All, I purchased the CECT A88 phone on EBay. I like it a lot but the user manual they sent (in ENglish) was crap ! It did not give instructions for anything but basic stuff. I have figured out a lot on my own but need some help. Does anyone know how to attach a photo to a number in your phone book. EG. I take a picture of Mike, when Mike calls me, his pic comes up on the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! Thanks

My cect p168’s screen is white, it was safe in my purse, but when i took it out, the screen was white. I have tried taking out the battery, sim, and memory card but nothing has worked. I have seen two other cases of this problem, but no explanation or solution. Is it the phone or the screen?? Please help me !!!

I have had the cect p168 for approximately 3 months, and the screen has turned white. It was safely in its case in my purse, and I cannot see anything. I have seen 2 other cases of this problem, but no explanation and no solution. The buttons do not work, and it will not power off unless i take out the battery. Can any one help me please!!

I recently purchased my p168 and it’s great - but I can’t get the “MAPS” “STOCKS” “WEATHER” functions to work. I have a very basic internet plan with T-Mobile. Is there something that I need to do in order to get those functions to work? Any help would be much appreciated!

For AT&T:
this works great for me! ( had some of the numbers transposed and it didn’t work, but after having someone else check my settings, the Internet and the MMS works great!!
Make sure all letters are correct and all numbers are correct!!
WAP
***First Step***
1.Main menu –> Select Services
3.Select Data Account –> Select GPRS
5.Select the first entry
6.Edit the account name to whatever you would like
7.Edit APN to wap.cingular (lowercase)
8.Edit Username to WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM (UPPERCASE)
9.Edit Password to CINGULAR1 (UPPERCASE)
10.Edit Auth Type. to Secure
11. Save
Select Back –> Select Back
***Second Step***
Select WAP
1.Select Settings –> Edit Profile
3.Select the first entry –> Edit Profile

6.Edit Homepage to http://device.home
7.Edit Data Account to the Name you established in the First Step
8.Edit Connection type to HTTP
9.The IP address is 066.209.011.032 and the port number is 8080
10.Edit Username to WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM

Select back or done
Select Activate Account

Ok, another question.
I went to Google and everything was in Chinese, I scrolled to the bottom of the page and was able to change it from Chinese to English.
When I go to Yahoo, I can search, but I do not get the same results as I do on my computer, also, most of the site is in Chinese, any one know how to convert it to English???

I have answered a few questions here, even recommended a few particular sites for others to order from, and yet, I have never once received an answer to any of my questions.
I have a P168 and used the settings I posted a few posts ago, and I can not use the MMS feature on this phone. It is set up with AT&T and I have upgraded to unlimited internet access, the same package they offer for the iphone.
So, what am I doing wrong? I know I have a POP mail account, so I am using the MMS to send to other cell phone numbers and email addresses. I get a message “ERROR IN COMMUNICATION”
aNY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!
