CECT P168 – iPhone Clone

You probably have heard of the Meizu MiniOne, which is an Apple iPhone clone (though the specification is better). Here is another iPhone clone from China, the CECT P168.
The CECT P168 looks really like the iPhone, even the wallpaper has been copied. The CECT P168 has a 3.5-inch QVGA LCD touchscreen, a 2 Megapixel camera (actual resolution: 1.3 Megapixel). It has integrated music player, video player, dictionary.
The CECT P168 has two SIM card slot, unfortunately you can’t use the two SIMs at the same time but have to switch between them.

Joe check the frequenzy first ask your carrier network what is the frequenzy that you need to find first, if it operates within that frequenzy then it will work , i got mine it works with t mobile as well as cingular but im in mn, with it comes with the internet i havent really tried connecting since im using it only for calls and text messages, but you can call up your network to know the details
I usre have had a lot of repeat business so there has to be a lot of happy people out there – usually the problem is needing the 850 band for good reception. Just my opinion.
oh and will the phone work on my network?
i am really going nuts here…i have been sitting in front of my computer for hours looking at the cectp168 read all the comments on this and other pages and i cant decide…the people with all the e-mail and internet issues, did they ever get all of those resolved, they never commented back..AND last but not least, i am in the youngstown ohio area and i have cellular one (tri-band, they said they support all gsm phones)…please for the love of god…IS THIS PRODUCT WORTH BUYING…thanks to all…Joe
I bought my P168 on ebay for £89 including delivery and have had it for the last 2 weeks. I am satisfied with it for the price.I had trouble loading mp4 videos but not 3gp videos strangely enough.
My only other issue is the headphones supplied are not good at all and i have been looking on the net for a adapter that works for this phone, so i can use my own, please let me know if u find 1.

The P168 is available with or without the logo – I can get them either way. Sorry Andy – the hardware is tri-band. you need the A988 if you need a quadband. I have 5 on the way to the USA now so let me know if you need one. The A988 is available in Orange and Pink now!!! Anyone want one in color? zydaglo@knology.net
I have just purchased the Cect p168 and am awaiting it’s arrival. However, I am concerned that the phone may not work since it is not a quadband. Is there any software that I can download to convert the phone from triband to quadband?

yeah and for the last the phone also works with t-mobile in middle Ga.

P 168 phone works with Rogers in Canada. \just put a Rogers sim card in and have it activated and it works.
to last, mine i just got the other day does have that logo on the back.
but its the p168, im not sure about any of the other ones they make.

Do the newer CECT not come with the iPhone logo on the back? It looks like the older models did, and had a glossy black design rather than the flat black. Is this true?

Hi everyone, I just purchased this phone from someone selling on eBay. I loaded up a freshly charged battery and when I tried to turn on my phone it went to a plain white screen. Pressing random buttons had no response and even trying to manually shut down the phone failed, the only way was to remove the battery. Has anyone heard of this happening? And if so, how can I fix this problem? Thank you for any help you can give!

Yes Rav3n is rigth it depends on the format of your phone. for renia you need to asked your provider if they can provide you a sim card, verizon has a sim card for world phones.
Hey, I just purchased the cect p168 off of ebay. Some say that its good and others say its bad. My only question is, if I take it to my provider are you sure they will be able to set everything up for me? I have verizon and as far as I know they dont have SIM cards.
it depends on the video format i got my cectp168 yesterday and it will read mp3s amr and 3gp as far a i kno so far. i deff impressed with how light the phone is.

Hello all. Just got my cect p168 and I love it. I live in Alaska and phone works. I have the same problems tho with the internet and email. Anyone got any good downloadable stuff for this phone?
You can only send text messages NOT VIDEO or PICTURE until you can connect to the internet,Due to the fact the phone is gsm and grps. You must have an online account to send those files…PERIOD Now for the music issue your phone must be shut off in order to function.Store the music files of course in music folder. And videos in the video folder. Not video clips those are for files you take with the camera function.
Hope this help out a lot of you. Also try turning the camera to a widescreen image just by one button when taking a pic or video. Its sweet:)

cect p168 phone it’s a great phone but i can’t seem to load any videos it keeps teling me invalid video file.I tried using the cect file encoder for mp4 but still nothing anyone have a solutionto this problem? the phone will record video and take pictures but when i try to load videos that are mp4 it will not play it it just says invalid video file! and thats it!? so please if anyone knows why this is happening please let me know hit me at atlantic121@hotmail.com
Mike, I have Suncom as well and the only thing I can think of to get the internet service to wk is to take the phone and sim card to a Suncom retailer and ask them to format the phone. This should wk. Had the problem before with a phone that wasn’t supported by Suncom and after they formatted it, it was fine.

try coverting to mp4 format or try wmv this usually works then connect your phone to pc and transfer it to your sim card under the video option there you go or put your igb sim in your pc and do the same

I feel like I’m beating my head against a wall. I have Suncom and I can’t get internet. I don’t have China Mobile, I have Suncom. I see people asking but not gettin any responses. This phone is cool and I pay Suncom for unlimited internet but cannot get on. Can anyone help?

Matt it sounds like you are out of your home cell range. If you are Tmo then your old phone probably would switch between Tmo and AT&T (cingular)(or another GSM service) towers when it could not get Tmo. This is one of the things I am worried about getting this phone. I have a BlackBerry now and I can switch between Tmo and several different carriers so I almost ALWAYS have service. Does anybody know how well it works on Tmo and does it switch back and forth or roam ok. Also with the internet issues, I had just switched BB’s and I had the same issue. I had to call Tmo and they sent down the “Service Books”. Once that was done it worked perfect on Tmo but no GPRS on AT&T only GSM, not even gprs.
to get the battery cover off pull or push the silver and black bottom half down if anyone has a problem with this phone in the uk phone your provider to set it up properly mines been working fine for a while now
I love the phone but I too am having problems with getting my email and connecting to the internet. can anyone offer any suggestions that are in complete laymans terms. I have Tmobile and live in WA state. I love the phone so far though.
