Softbank 912T is UMTS 2100Mhz 3G only.
So it WILL NOT WORK in all of North America.
Im sorry. I just feel that we are just looked at as a joke over here and someone somewhere has to speak up some time. I don’t hate Japanese people, otherwise I wouldn’t be here. I love Japan and the Japanese people; but, a lot of the time I feel that we get look at as “stupid” or as “criminals” all the time.
YES, I WILL admit that there are foreign people living in Japan causing a lot of trouble; but that doesn’t mean that EVERYONE is. I think a lot of brainwashing has went on about everyone from outside of Japan being “sneaky” and “bad” and this has been reflected in Softbanks policy’s of making foreign people PAY for their mobile phone, in case they run away back home with it.
I was VERY disappointed with my phone, because when I converted my sound files to the format my phone wanted, I still couldn’t play them…Softbank or Toshiba have some setting on the phone, which stops me from playing a sound effect on the phone that I created. So I am paying for a phone, which Im not gonna run away with, which also can’t play my OWN sound effects even when converting them to the format the phone can play…
I totally agree with you Ash,
SOME Japanese people are quite racist to say the least.
Some Japanese people are just a little bit biased to their own nation, common in every human.
and
Some Japanese people dont care who it is, be it gaijin or nihonjin.
I think its time we all chill. A phone has caused us to have almost political discussions.
Yes Softbank is ONLY available in Japan because the truth of the matter is that the Japanese are just TOO conservative! They go around calling people “foreigners” instead of calling people what they should be called; and thats, P-E-O-P-L-E! If they choose to call us “foreigners” all the time, then I see no reason why I should not call them Japs, or, monkeys.
The double standards are gonna stop.
hi do anyone know where i can buy any SoftBank mobile, is it only in inside japan, or what??

Welcome to the inquiry. Thanks
go read page 24-38 of the manual, that page explains all the fire types the phone accepts in each folder
Can we use the Toshiba 912T Mobile phone in other countries with different SIM Card that’s bought in japan.
sometimes japanese phones made and sold in japan cannot play mp3s but the same phone sold in other countries with different firmware plays them so its probably got to do with some sort of licensing. end of story i reckon.
I dont understand why Japanese people do not have free and independent thoughts. It is funny.

yeah… i think the point is, AAC or MP3 can NOT be ringtone. only MMF file i think its called.
BECAUSE if you want mp3 ringtone, it has to be locked one only (bought one), and must be uploaded to phone using SD Jukebox program. OR, you download mp3 from softbank linked website and pay.
thats the answer. I dont understand why foreigners become so agitated LOL
It has nothing to do with softbank..Its all toshiba..still it comes with software to transfer your Mp3 files to AAC..stop complaining and think..
BTW everybody uses AAC nowadays. Its very common on iPods as well as Japanese phones. Even the jocks at my skool no dat r.
WHAT A PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT!! i just bought this shit today because my old phone couldnt play mp3 (among so many other things) and now i learn that this fucker cant play mp3 either despite of being much newer than the one i had!! WTF??? something i dont get, its that my company provided me with a different model, softbank as well but that one can play mp3, so whats wrong? i cant believe toshiba cant get up to date and make phones compatible with such a popular and used format. What the hell is ACC? never heard of it…
can it be use in Canada??
does Canada have 3G network?
You still don’t understand what I am saying:D
Ohwell. But I have to agree with you, it is really annoying. I blame the manufacture not softbank.
Yeah I know it plays AAC instead of MP3 but what Im saying is that when you convert your MP3s to AAcs you still CAN NOT set these for your ring tone or message alert! AND YOU CAN NOT READ THE MANUAL BEFORE BUYING A PHONE!!!!
I understand your pain, I did the same thing with my 707sc and my 811sh. Its annoying, but then I read the manual and found out Hey, it plays AAC not MP3. WOOPS!
What? Read the manual BEFORE I buy the phone? We even went back to the shop where we got it from and asked them why we couldnt do these things on this phone and they just gave us the thing that the Japanese are famous for, making excuses! Any time you question a Japanese person about something difficult they ALWAYS start flying out excuses ALL over the place!
Ash. This is the case with all softbank phones. They play AACs and they are very difficult to set ringtones with. Please read manual before jumping to conclusions.
This phone is crap! I had a hell of a time converting the MP3s I wanted to use on it, only to find out that I cant use ANY of them as a ringtone or whenever I get a message!!! I have tried converting it to the lowest bit rate as possible and STILL DOES NOT WORK!! WOWWWW GREAT PHONE TOSHIBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this available in the U.S.?
