Panasonic presents also the HDC-SD5 camcorder, other than the SX5. SD5 is claimed to be the world’s smallest and lightest palm-style 3CCD full HD camcorder. Same as the SX5, Panasonic HDC-SD5 has 3CCD sensor, 10x optical zoom with Leica Dicomat lens and Advanced O.I.S image stabilizer. There is also a 2.7-inch LCD display.
Of course, the SD5 supports AVCHD standard and it can record 1920×1080 Full HD videos. The difference between SX5 and SD5 is that SD5 supports only SD/SDHC recording while SX5 supports also DVD discs.

The SX5 can record Full-HD video at 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It supports MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video compression. SX5 record video on 8cm DVD-RAM/DVD-RW discs or SD/SDHC memory cards.
