No it is not working anymore, they updated the MSN security, I saw on another website that now it does not work anymore, V-tech dont even support that phone anymore, its even no longer on their site… I have not tryed 8.0 yet but it says 8.1 when I start the software and this 8.1 does not work… will try 8.0 just for fun. But I think its over for MSN on homephone

I did exactly what you said, but no luck. I am using Windows XP SP3. Do i need to have the HI SPEED USB 2.0 or not?

will not work if you are running windows 7 according to vtech tech help windows 7 does not support this phone and they do not intend to produce the software to make it compatible. also needs to be hooked up to a pc….. laptop will not do.

I got the Vtech IS6110 cordless phone and it won’t connect to Windows Live Messenger/MSN Messenger and AOL Messenger. I have done everything what they suggested to make it work.

It won’t work. Anybody who knows the solution to this problem,please let us know. Thank you.

yes it works, uninstall windows live, download and install msnmessinger 8.0
go to the install folder, change msnger.exe to compatibility mode for 2000
you can now use your phone.
this phone does not work with the new live and when you change to compat’ 2000 you can use messinger without updateing the phone can connect with version 8

YOU need version 8.1 and to use 8.1 with out updating to the new windows live follow the steps below

I found a fix for IS6110 software to connect to the new msn messenger live.
uninstall windows live messenger. Install MSN messenger 8.1, go to C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsngr.exe and change msnmsnger.exe to compatibility mode for windows 2000. you can now use messenger without updating to the new windows live.. When you use the vtch IS6110 software to connect, a few prompts asking to update MSN, choose cancel right away.
Your software for the vetch Is6110 will now connect

Well, its more so in conjunction with. Use this phone like you normally would, but then you don’t have to be tethered to your computer to send txt messages(via AIM), as you can send then using this phone through AIM, so it works out well.

In short, this phone is perfect for anyone using Magicjack’s VoIP service, as you have to have your computer on all the time anyways. That and AIM is the way i send people txts
