Mercedes Benz S400 BlueHybrid uses Li-ion battery

Mercedes Benz announces the S400 BlueHybrid, which is the first to use Li-ion battery as power source.S400 is powered by Mercedes 3.5L V-6 gas engine combined with the 15kW electric motor/generator.
There is also another model, ML450 hybrid that also use the same engine but with two-mode hybrid system.
Both of them are set to be launched in 2009.
