  2. well… good luck finding a free minute. I hope you’ve better luck doing that than I do.

to asnwer most of the questions here as i do own several japanese phones

1)for the ones missing the charger , eBay is your best chance

2)no the phone won’t work with Cingular AT&T , it does work but i t have a lot of CPR issues , the phone works with T-Mobile best as it have the 1900 Mhz band

3)when you have the OUT issue and the phone can’t recover it’s signal then turn it off and back on if that doesn’t work CPR the phone it that does not work too then check your SIM card

4)the phone runs around 400 or 500 NEW , used it runs around 200

5)you can’t put MP3 songs, the phone only accepts AAC and MP4
for music and the WMA format if you plan to transfer albums to the phone , when adding music put the phone in MTP mode.

6)you can’t upload any picture with any name, the phone have a system structure that needs to be followed for instance any wallpaper i want to have in the phone needs to be save on the STIL folder , the path should be like this SD:/DOCOMO/PRIVATE/STIL/STIL0001.jpg and so on, up to 9999 pictures and folders. if you are confused go this website

i got this phone about a week ago , i have to say im impress with the quality of the screen , the design is beautiful and everything, too bad you can’t use all the features of the phone but for me the camera, txt and music will do it, my phone is the SH906I blue (same as in the pictures) working on T-Mobile , i have done several CPRs to the phone , the CPR part is the only annoying thing other than that is a good phone, hopefully we’ll have phones like this in the US.

That’s not truth, I live in LA and i have the phone, Docomo works here in the states too, and it works great on GSM.

    • c says:

hi james, how did u get the phone and how much did it cost? and it really works perfectly in US? I wanna makesure before I purchase ~ thanks

    • Lisa says:

      Hey James,
just wondering but how did you make your phone work in the US? Also were you with prepaid or carrier plan? If carrier, did it charge you like the international roam fee and stuff?

    • cheyenne says:

      Hi,
I live in the US but where do I buy one?
And can I activate it with any phone company???

  13. kasia says:

and another thing is…you can’t use your sim card as it is…to put american or european sim card inside this phone first you need to cut it (!!) a little bit on the edge (be careful not to touch the chip) and put it inside together with a special kind of card (very, very thin one)…it’s also a pity that sh906i (and other japanese mobile phones) can only be used to call and sms..
hope my posts can be useful to someone!
    cheers!

  14. kasia says:

    hello everyone…
this phone costs around 450 us dollars now.
i wanted to buy it in china (would cost me around 3500 rmb) but i descovered that using it outside japan would mean using gsm network (japan runs 3d network) and that will cause temporary interruptions from the gsm provider. they explained me why, but my chinese was not enough to understand all technical issues. the boy who was the seller advised me not to buy any japanese telephone unless i want to use it in japan. i was really sorry, cause that mobile phone looks amazing…but i appreciate his honesty!

  15. Jade says:

still dont know how much is???? i love it and by any chance you know the price of SO906I

  16. k says:

Yes, the phone will work outside Japan, but you need a “hypersim”

    However, there will be:

    Need of CPRs
    No internet
    No television
    No receiving on bluetooth

    etc

So unless you are really dedicated to following the phone, it’s not worth your time.

  17. Sze says:

    Thanks for your comments

the phone is available only in japan
and probably you can’t use it outside Japan

  18. Valerie says:

Hi! Based from your review, this phone seems great. It looks simple yet sleek. Do you have an idea if how much this phone costs?
