Sony announced its new VAIO notebook lineups. There are four new series, FW, SR, Z and BZ. All of them are powered by the new Centrino 2 platform.
The new VAIO FW series notebook is the world’s first to have 16.4-inch widescreen display. FW is powered by Centrino 2 Core 2 Duo processor and Blu-ray drive is available in premium models. It will, of course, support WiFi and comes with Memory Stick card slot. The price starts at $1000.
Next is the VAIO SR series ultra-portable notebook. Again, the new SR is powered by Centrino 2 processors, and features Intel’s vPro technology. The VAIO SR boasts a 13.3-inch XBRITE-ECO LCD display, and offers the G-Sensor Shock Protection. It will be available in five striking colors– night black, sunset pink, glossy pink, classic silver and glossy silver. The price starts at $1,400.
The VAIO Z series is a powerful ultra-portable notebook PCs. The Z series offers a 13.1-inch 1600 X 900 16:9 display, and dedicated nVidia 9300M graphics. Users may also want to get the Blu-ray drive and Solid State Drive. The price ranges from $1800 to $2300.
Finally, the VAIO BZ is Centrino 2 based business laptops. Users can expect Intel’s Core 2 Duo processor, vPro, a 15.4-inch LCD screen, WiFi 802.11n and a Memory Stick/SD card slot. The price starts at $1000.
