I recently bought this new version of Hitachi's camcorder and so far I've been impressed. It has longer recording time and bigger bandwidth than the last version. I heard some bad reviews about the older versions but with this one Hitachi has definitely has made improvements. I think my favorite part about this camcorder is the fact that you can take images from a video and turn them into digital still pictures. I uploaded a bunch of pictures from a europe trip that I went on and never once used my digital camera! While it is a little pricey, I found a promo coupon code that I'm pretty sure still works. Just go to the www.hitachibd.com website and type in SAVEBIG when you go to make your purchase. It saves about 20% I think, definitely worth it when you're spending a thousand dollars on a camcorder.
