Lenovo ThinkPad W500 and W700 Mobile Workstations

Lenovo launches its new ThinkPad W series mobile workstation notebook PC, including the W500 and W700. Lenovo describe the new W series as the most powerful laptop.
ThinkPad W500 runs on an Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 processor, and 1GB of RAM. It has the ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 video card with 512MB RAM. There is also a 100GB HDD and a 15.4-inch LCD display. The price starts at $1629.
Powered by the same T9400 processor, the W700 gets 2GB of memory and the 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX-2700 graphics. It offers 160GB hard drive and a 17-inch display. The price starts at $2978.
The two notebooks both support WiFi wireless connectivity. You may also want to get WiMax, WWAN, Mobile broadband and Bluetooth. SSD option is also available.

just got my W500, one of the best laptops I have used, replaces a Dell laptop that is only good for a door stop!!

Dual quad-core Xeon or Opteron, Quadro FX 4600 & 5600 SDI cards, terabytes storage and up to 24 GB RAM! There is no better mobile workstation on the market than what NextComputing has to offer! I have one of these for personal use, and it is the best thing I ever purchased (as everything in the machine can be upgraded, making it obsolete-proof!)
The only drawback is the price, however this machine is an investment that could save a person (or a company) thousands of dollars of expenses in the future since everything can be upgraded in the machine. A premium quality product…or as I like to call them the Mercedes of Mobile Computing!
I just got my W500 to replace my T60p. At first, I was real excited – the W500 was a bit smaller in size – also the screen size, but not as much so it worried me any… But when I started it up, I got real worried. Even though it has 1920 x 1200 resolution, it’s worse than the T60′s 1600 x 1200!!! The resolution doesn’t look better at all, rather worse. Strange and annoying!
