Sony announced the STR-DA6400ES and the STR-DA5400ES A/V receivers that comes with a CAT5e port that allows the devices to provide high-definition video to a second room.
They are compatible with Blu-ray Disc format and supports 1080/24p video signals and Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS High Resolution Audio and DTS HD Master Audio codecs. They have the Faroudja DCDi Cinema chip for 1080p upscaling via HDMI.
STR-DA6400ES comes with an additional CAT5e input and supports Digital Life Network Alliance (DLNA). It’s 7.1 channel receiver has a 120-watt power amplifier x 7 (8 ohms, 20 Hz – 20 kHz, 0.09 percent THD), six HDMI inputs (five rear, one front) with Direct Stream Digital and two HDMI outputs. It will be available in October for $2,500.
