Apex DT250 DTV Converter Box
by Sze | Filed under HDTV
Starting from February 17 next year, the analog to digital transition will take place. That means if you still want to watch free over-the-air TV, you have to get a DTV converter box, such as the Apex DT250.
The Apex DT250 DTV converter offers smart antenna port, EPG, analog pass-through and S-Video output. It handles aspect ratio decently.
TweetCNET Reviews has reviewed the device and comments:
The good: Very good image quality; S-Video output; Smart Antenna port; analog pass-through.The bad: Pulls in fewer stations than some other DTV boxes; mediocre remote; limited electronic program guide.
The bottom line: The Apex DT250 DTV converter box is packed with features and puts out a nice picture, but it doesn’t pull in as many stations as competing boxes.

Replacing C8 worked for me, too. If the top of the capacitor is bulging (not flat like the rest of them), then it is bad. Must be an issue with the 25 Volt rating. I replaced it with a 35 Volt capacitor.
apex dt250a box. if red light stays on and will not turn green, replace c8 (470uf@25v). this worked for me.

C8?
NVM. Found it.
Don’t know why they switched over! it really sucks. focus too much on how clear it looks then the reception! Need to go back to attena. its a waste of money switching over to this crap and it doesn’t even work good! TV always freezes cause reception sucks!
VERY UNSATISFIED!
Hate this coverter box! hate all of them! can’t stand it the quality sucks! i prefer the regular attena before this!
