I’ve had mine for over 6 months and totally love it. I have found that motherboard inside is of this unit to be the 1000h version with only the 9″ screen being the difference. I’m using dual boot with two operating systems both XP and Mandriva 2009.1 are running very well.
The speakers on mine are located at the bottom front (not in the screen frame) of the unit and i’ve noticed with my UK model there’s a full version of Microsoft office 2007 included aswell. Battery life i can squeeze out of this with light use is upto 5 hours wireless off and up to 4 hours with wireless on.
I love this notebook so much i can’t stop picking it up and using it. 5 stars from me all the way.
I’m not too sure whether this is true or not, but they say for the 8.9″ 904 model the black bordering of the screen are not actual speakers and that the sound comes from the bottom. supposibly the chassis for the 8.9″ and 10″ are in same dimensions. Therefore the 8.9″ has the black bordering to fill in the extra area that the screen does not cover. Thats what i read.
This is a comment on the above review/er- the case it is in was designed for the 8.9″ AND the 10″ screen models- however the major difference is that in the 8.9″ screen version the speakers are next to the monitor, while in the 10″ screen version, the speakers are below the keyboard.
This has gotten my attention! – estimated 7 HRS battery life!
Although Im not really skeptical on the design factor of the Space between LCD and case, I wish they could have expanded that out a little bit, but based on the technical specs I really can’t complain. Anything to help me develop software, on the go is great!
