Motorola Krave ZN4 Reviewed

Verizon and Motorola have just launched the Krave ZN4 smartphone. The phone has been quickly reviewed. To recap, the the Krave ZN4 features a 2.8-inch touch display, a 2 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, support for EVDO, Haptic control, media player, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot.
Here is a round-up of reviews from several websites:
CNET:
The good: The Motorola Krave ZN4 has an eye-catching and unique design with an innovative and responsive touch interface. It offers a bevy of high-end features and rates favorably in call, photo, and streaming video quality.
The bad: The Motorola Krave ZN4’s browser and QWERTY keyboard take acclimation, and camera editing features were few. The Krave lacks Wi-Fi, and full exchange support is not available at launch.
The bottom line: The Motorola Krave ZN4 accomplishes something few other cell phones do: it’s unique, easy to use, and it performs well.
Krave’s touch sensitive cover is really cool and clever but it really doesn’t add anything to the phone’s functionality other than being able to avoid opening it for a few tasks. The best things about the Krave are its music player, its easy to use camera and its wide range of messaging options, even if these messaging capabilities are short-sheeted by the awkward QWERTY keyboard. But the horrible Web browser, the limited options available with the flip closed and the lack of being able to move and re-arrange application and function shortcuts were deal-breakers for me. Many of these problems aren’t insurmountable – a software update could solve many of Krave’s customization shortcomings. It just seems to me the Krave needed a little more time in the oven.
At $149.99 (with contract), the Motorola Krave ZN4 goes for $50 less than its main competitor, the LG Dare. Also, the Krave’s touch keypad is a bit more responsive than the Dare’s. But the Dare prevails in plenty of other ways with a much better camera, a better browser, and most important, software with a sense of whimsy, fun, and freshness.
