LaCie LaCinema Rugged Multimedia Hard Disk

LaCie introduces the new LaCinema Rugged multimedia USB external hard drive. Designed by Neil Poulton, the LaCinema allows users to watch movies and TV shows as well as photos on their HDTV with HDMI upscaling.

The LaCie LaCinema Rugged features a rugged desing in a compact form factor. It has 500GB storage capacity. LaCinema supports most common media formats, including:
Video: MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI, VOB, IFO, ISO), MPEG-4 (AVI, XviD)
Audio: MP3, WMA, AC3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC***
Photo: JPEG (up to 8 megapixels), GIF, PNG, BMP
Subtitle: SRT, SSA, SUB, SMI

The LaCie LaCinema Rugged supports both PAL and NTSC TV systems. It offers Composite input, HDMI, optical video output, and analog, optical audio output. It comes with a remote control and uses USB 2.0 high speed interface.
