Canon Powershot G10 Camera Review

Canon Powershot G10 is the successor of the G9. It features a 14.7 Megapixel image sensor, a 28mm wide angle lens, 5X optical zoom, and the DIGIC 4 image processor. G10 offers also Advanced Face Detection Technology, Motion Detection Technology, Optical image stabilization, Intelligent Contrast Correction, and Servo AF.

The G10 is undoubtedly the best ever Canon G-Series camera, and is a serious alternative to both an entry-level DSLR and other similar compacts (most notably the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 and the Nikon Coolpix P6000). It ultimately fails to gain our whole-hearted recommendation, however, principally because of the noisy images at slow ISO speeds, and the rather prohibitive price-tag of £449 / $499 – you don’t to have to add much more cash to the pot to be able to stretch to Canon’s own 1000D / Rebel Xs DSLR (particularly if you live in the UK). Having said that, I was very reluctant to return the Powershot G10 to Canon…
