JVC DR-MV80B and DR-MV150B DVD/VCR Recorders
JVC announced the new DR-MV80B and DR-MV150B DVD/VCR combo recorders. The former has built-in ATSC tuner for convenient recording while the latter comes with JVC’s Timer Link for easy program recording.

Both JVC’s DR-MV80B and DR-MV150B can do VHS-to-DVD dubbing and 1080p upconversion via HDMI. They support DVD–R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-RAM discs for recording and playback. JPEG, MP3 and WMA files can also be handled and Dolby Digital and DTS HD decoding are supported.

These two new DVD/VCR recorders have a front panel DV input that allows users to connect a camcorder and transfer footage to a DVD disc or VHS videocassette easily. In addition to HDMI, DR-MV80B and DR-MV150B have S-Video outputs, composite outputs and inputs, and coaxial and optical audio outputs.

Availability and pricing:

  • DR-MV80B     Spring 2009     $199.95

  1. AJ Telecom says:

never buy this machine you will be very displeased, sharpness is fuzzy, color calibration is off and too much pink, the tracking is off, hatchet lines on top edge and line on bottom edge, horizontal sweep frequency is off, 3 out of 3 burns no play, too complicated machine for the average person, same poor old fwd rev clutch mech. setup config is too technical, you have to know what DTS is and for, and how to set it up, you need to know settings for bit rate, pulse code modulation, bitstream, Playback compression PBC, dics formatting, initializing, chapter setup, and name, finalizing, input output jacks layed out poorly, no tech support, no local repair service, no over burn prevention, does not accept dual layer DVD’s, poor D/A conversion 50meg compare to sony’s 104 meg, no way to adjust the tracking, copies appear slightly dark compare to the original, I would not recommend this machine to others.
