My review is based on a first time experience with the Kenwood Excelon Series and Limited use since I just got the Unit.
First let me thank IAR (International Auto Radio) in North Hollywood for such a great price and install of this unit
Tell them Greg sent you and get your DNX9140 at a great price!
Now The Review:
1. This unit has a boot time of around 25 seconds after starting your vehicle, I’ve heard the older Models have much longer boot times
2. The voice Command for this unit is awesome, the only glitch
if I can call it that is when the unit starts and it is on tuner
you must hit the “NAV” button on the front of the unit then the “Tuner” button on the Touchscreen to get the Tuner Channel Presets to work in Voice.
3. The Parrot Bluetooth is super fast and responsive, easy to setup with your phone and phone book, I have my front 6X9’s speakers setup for Audio for my phone and the audio is nice and clear.
4. The Navigation is Garmin and that alone speaks for itself
but my testing of the navigation is limited since I just got the unit, but the voice commands for Navigation work flawless.
5. The Sound System is of course Kenwood, and let me just say
I’m never disappointed With Kenwood when it comes to there sound, this thing sounds great even with my Stock Toyota Tacoma Speakers, I did add 2 10″ subs so now it BUMPS!
Overall this unit is impressive but so is the price,
I suggest you find an Authorized Kenwood Dealer and Haggle
on the price, and Don’t forget order before 8/31/2009
and a $150.00 Rebate http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Prom....._A_Rebate/
I hope my Review helps at least one person make a decision
on whether to purchase this unit or not.
I say go for it!
PAC will let you keep steering wheel controls

Robert,
Yes, each new NAV system comes with it’s own steering wheel controls. google DNX9140 and you’ll see many websites that will give you all the details. also checkout crutchfield.com, that’s the one i personally like a lot.
I have a BMW M3 2006, I have a factory stock NAV system built in with my radio, it also has a factory installed IPOD connector but it will only reconize my MP3’s and not MP4’s on my factoey NAV radio. will the DNX9140 receiver work with my steering wheel controls if not does some one sell a inline kit so I will still be able to have steering wheel controls with this DNX9140 receiver.
Please HELP!!!
Thanks,
Robert M.
