Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 and DSC-W230 Entry-level Cameras

Along with the H20, T90 and T900, Sony presents the Cyber-shot DSC-W290 and DSC-W230 entry-level compact digital cameras. Both of them are 12.1 Megapixel cameras. The W290 has a 5x Carl Zeiss optical zoom lens while the W230 gets a 4x zoom lens. They have a 3-inch LCD display.
The Cyber-Shot DSC-W290 has the intelligent auto mode, selected-face memory and Face Detection. The W230 includes the Intelligent scene recognition (iSCN) and Face detection. These cameras feature Sony’s optical SteadyShot image stabilization. The W290 can record 720p HD video at 30fps while the W230 records 640×480 clips.
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 will come in silver, black, blue and bronze for about $250 and the W230 in silver, black, blue and red for about $200.
