Samaung presents at the PMA 2009 its new prosumer level NX Series “Hybrid” digital cameras. Basically, the NX Series are digital cameras with APS-C sized image sensor, which supposed to be found on DSLR cameras. With the APS-C sensor, Samsung’s Hybrid cameras have a larger surface area to gather light and produce higher-quality images.
Instead of mirror box, Samsung uses Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) on the NX-series, allowing Samsung engineers to reduce the size and weight of the new camera system at the same time decreasing the distance between the lens and image sensor by approximately 60% compared to traditional DSLRs.
According to Samsung, first NX series camera will be released in Q2 2009.
