Sony introduces three new DVD-integrated home theater systems, including DAV-HDX587WC, DAV-HDX589W and DAV-HDX285. All of them have 1000-watt maximum power and a five disc DVD/CD changers.
Sony’s DAV-HDX587WC and DAV-HDX589W are 5.1-channel systems with an iPod cradle. They can upscale DVDs to near high-definition quality via an HDMI. Both systems utilize Sony’s S-AIR technology for wireless audio. The former comes with the AIR-SA10 S-AIR multi-room listening station ($120) while the latter includes the WAHT-SA10 S-AIR wireless rear speakers ($150). These systems feature also Digital Cinema Auto Calibration, Portable Audio Enhancer and Dialogue Enhancer.
Sony DAV-HDX285 is relatively more afforable. It’s also a 5-channel system with DVD-upscaling, iPod cradle but without S-AIR speakers.
All these systems are completed with Sony’s DMPort Booster technology and Digital Media Port. The DAV-HDX587WC and DAV-HDX589W are priced at $430 and the DAV-HDX285 costs $300.
