GM Opel Ampera Electric Car
by Sze | Filed under Transportation
General Motors (GM) brings its new Opel Ampera electric car to the 79th Geneva Motor Show. The Opel Ampera is basically the European version of the Chevy Volt. It is powered by a 16-kWh, lithium-ion battery that travels up to 60km. When the battery’s energy is depleted, electricity from an engine-generator extends the Ampera’s range to more than 500 km.
The Ampera can be charged simply via any household 230v outlet. The Ampera will also be available in the UK with right-hand drive under the brand Vauxhall.
