General Dynamics Itronix GD8000 Rugged Notebook

General Dynamics announced the new Itronix GD8000 notebook that takes rugged to the next level. The GD8000 has a Magnesium chassis and impact absorbing polycarbonate casing and meets MIL-STD 810F standard. It can withstand a drop from 42-inch, 30 gallons of water blown at 40 mph and operates in temperature from -22 degrees F to 140 degrees F.

The Itronix GD8000 is powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo SL9400 processor, 4GB of RAM, integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics and 120GB hard drive. The GD8000 has a 13.3-inch DynaVue sunlight-readable touchscreen display.
This rugged notebook comes with integrated GPS, WiFi, fingerprint reader, smartcard reader and integrated Gobi 2000 WWAN module. Bluetooth option is available.
