LaCie announced the new Rugged XL external hard drive with up to 1TB of capacity. The Rugged XL supports both USB 2.0 and eSATA 3Gb/s high speed interfaces. It has an aluminum casing and orange rubber sleeve for protection.
LaCie’s Rugged XL includes an internal bumper and heat dissipating features so it can withstand the challenges and blunders that can occur on anyone’s desk. With 1TB capacity, the Rugged XL is priced at $159.99.
This is a nice drive at a nice price point. I’d love to see one with network access, especially wireless so that you could set it anywhere and backup from all your PCs.
