  4. Youmpers says:

Aw, what a shame. It seems that this is a nice good-functioning phone, plauged by severe quality problems. It will be a disaster to the purchase this phone, I feel. Better to go with an HTC, which can be had for not much more money.

What a pity! I would have liked to buy this phone, but I feel that I wil be throwing my money down the drain, just as badly as if I had spent $600 on an iPhone.

    • Shiisun says:

What are you talking about? Your comments doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. “Plaqued with severe blah blah blah. This is a useless “rant”, not accurate and/or valuable information. A “disaster”…. “I feel”? What a “pity”?? This is the worst critique I have ever read in my life! $600?? The phone is $119 on amazon & ebay! And thats a steal for all the functions you get with it, it comes fully loaded! And YES the Wifi DOES WORK! Just goes to show DO NOT believe everything you read. U can believe me though, cuz I actually own 1, 2 actaully. And I CAN prove it! Anybody having problems with connecting to the wifi?? hollah @me. I have full instructions 1shiisun2@gmail.com

      • Erich says:

The phone is junk. The functions are tough to deal with, and the touch screen always fails. Its ALWAYS failing. Its very unpredictable. Dialing is a chore. If you want alot of stress in your life, until you finish it off with a hammer, but it. The wifi connected, but is useless. I bought it on ebay and it s ucks BIG TIME

I’m running the Sciphone G2 Dream on the Fido Network (Canada) and it appears to function fine but it drops almost every call after 30-45 seconds. Is there a setting in the phone that needs to be calibrated with the Fido GSM network?

    • Adam says:

Fido uses 1900 mhz and this signal is weak when u r using the phone inside a building. Rogers uses 850/1900 and therefore call drop rate is less.

  6. Amanda says:

Can you use the the touch screen without the stylus? Will it respond well with just your fingers?

  7. jose says:

Does any one know if i have to have internet with my cell provider for this phone to work or will it work with out it

    • GAry says:

I just recieved my dream g2 phone. the wireless works without paying for the internet, as long as you have an unsecured good wireless signal. text messaging sucks on this phone. impossible to text while driving

      • DJ says:

What the hell are you doing driving and texting at the same time – are you mad????

      • Smarty1 says:

        You F-ing idiot!

        • Gary says:

Get a life. Do you really believe everything you read?

          • bunst says:

No, bit I beleive this. If you textand drive, exactly what are you looking at and paying attention to?

Let me suggest something that will make you a better driver: why don’t you stick ur head up your @zz when driving? Also, at all other times.

Pull over if you HAVE to text, short-brain. Stay off the roads where my family is.

Get a life, dimwit. Look around. There are other people in the planet besides just you.

          • gary says:

You missed the whole POINT. Once again…DO U REALLY BELIEVE EVERY WORD YOU READ? you probably voted for obama

      • Gary says:

After using this phone for 3 weeks it really is he signal is weak here in beautiful california. including las vegas. the picture quality is very dim and poor. even after changing the settings. sometimes the touch screen doesnt respond to anything, so i recallibrate the pen, and it may work fine for a short time. theb its unresponsive again. Dialing a basic number is a chore. almost as bad as texting while driving. If someone is thinking about buying one, just go flush your money down the toilet. you”ll have the same results. the wi fi is useless. you cant get enough information on the screen to do anything with it. And half of the information is in chinese… weather reports come in metric form. Take it from me, its trash can material

      • Shiisun says:

Now thats true(lol) @least somebody knows what they’re talking about!!

  8. Jim says:

    Hi,
I have purchased a G2B touch screen phone about a month ago and the touch screen does not respond. Has anyone had any problems with the touch screen so that I can fix mine.

  9. hb says:

When i take pictures with my camera then preview them in the gallery, they are not full screen. the manual states that if the ACC function is open my picture will always fit to the screen. How do i verfiy that the function is open and where is it located. Thanks

  10. hb says:

how do i launch opera mini. Do i need a sims card installed by by internet provider. Please help my new phone arrived from Hong Kong without an english manual. Also can’t get video pictures to rotate nor music to stop by shaking. Is my sensor off. How do i get these features to work.

    • martin says:

You must to enable the wifi option in the menu of the phone, then you can surf the internet via wifi.

  11. hb says:

unable to connect to internet through mini opera. Tried connecting using instructions on green sheet, a connection site was located in the public library. Can i connect to my wifi only when i’m in that location.

    • martin says:

This mean the internet wifi connection at the library is open to surf. you need an OPEN wifi connection to surf the internet.

  12. Jozef says:

    Hi,
I have problem with Sciphone Dream G2B,
WIFI is not working. I followed the instructions on green paper. There is no error message on the phone. After searching for WIFI it wrote: empty on screen.
The phone is in area with WIFI signal, I have checked it with WIFI netbook, WIFI/USB dongle and WIFI finder. The icon on phone top has cross.
What else is necessary to set up?
Should WIFI function with no SIM card in the phone?
    What else could I try?
    Thank you in advance,
    Jozef.

  13. Shak says:

I did find the green sheet and follow all the instructions but still the message after I put my security code “unable to connect”. Something I am doing is wrong. Anyone with any other tricks? I am sure once I have the wifi rest of things including google and opra would be just easy. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Shak

  14. Shak says:

Hi I got my G2 yesterday. Really like it in this price. I am starting to play with it and the first problem is WiFi. The “pre-shared key” is it my security password. I tried but it does not work. So it must be something else. In the posts above, I have a green sheet but it is in all chinnese and I cant understand it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Shak

    • Ken says:

Please check. The green sheet should have instructions on both side. One side in Chinese and the other side is in English.

  15. Steve says:

Having problems downloading ANYTHING–also, can’t get opera mini to run after running 25 opera network tests–don’t know what to do–can’t change any ringtone?!

    • Ken says:

Did you set the time, date and time zone on the phone correctly? Opera Mini is troublesome and requires all settings to be correct before it will launch.

  16. Hermann says:

  17. iggy says:

Hi My phone suddenly connected to my wifi with no problems, don’t know what I did but it works really well, what a great little phone.

  18. iggy says:

thanks for the reply Ken, I’ve tried everything that I know, upper case, lower case etc, it’s frustrating because I know I’m doing something wrong but i just can’t figure out what it is. I’ll go to Starbucks and see if it works there.

    • Ken says:

Did you preset the password in your connection account or enter the password when you try to use WiFi?

I usually do not save my password in the connection profile, but enter it when I want to use WiFi (and the phone will request you to input password if you have set up one).

Maybe you can test both. Try to edit your connection account.

  19. Ken says:

    Hi iggy,

Not sure what caused you the problem. I also have security key for my wireless router at my office, and I log in without any problems after inputting the password.

Did you put in the password in correct case?

  20. iggy says:

Hello, I got this phone yesterday and it’s pretty good BUT!! I have to disable my wifi router security to get it to connect to the internet with wifi. If I don’t it won’t connect even if I put in the right security key on the phone. I followed all the right moves ie 64 bit key etc. Anybody got any ideas?

  21. lee says:

If you bought an UNLOCKED G2 it should work with T-Mobile. I’d like to hear about your experience with the camera. The specs say 2MP lens and 4MP interpolated. Maybe you could post some full resolution sample photos for us.

  22. dj says:

hi, i’ve ordered this phone. waiting to recieve it. was wondering, it does work with the tmobile sim card correct? i got it from a china man lol.

  23. lee says:

Anyone tried the camera? Are the pictures good enough? How about showing a few sample photos?

  24. Ken says:

    Hi jd,

You might have inserted the SIM incorrectly. There is a small gap above the SIM slot and between the slot and the plastic. Do NOT insert your SIM card there.

  25. jd says:

How come my sciphone 2g dream phone say insert SIM card when I try all the adjustment on it already? Anybody know what’s wrong? Is the phone the problem? The dial also kept on saying emergency calls only.

    • Ken says:

I think you might have inserted the SIM incorrectly. There is a tiny gap between the SIM slot and the plastic. That is NOT where your SIM card should be inserted. It’s easy to insert your card into the wrong place.

  26. Ken says:

    Hi Stefan,

There should be a green instruction sheet on how to set up the WiFi in the package. I tried configuring G2 following the steps on that piece of paper, and it works perfectly.

  27. stefan says:

    I just received my phone.
The WiFi function does not work, it is able to connect to the router but won’t transmit any data. That way the apps don’t work such as google mail or google mobile,…
If you set the phone back to factory settings, the display is not calibrated anymore so you have fun finding the keys if u have a lock…
Anyone knows how to configure that the wireless works ?

    • Ken says:

      Hi Stefan,

Please follow the steps on the green instruction sheet included in the package to configure WiFi. I did that and it works ok.

      • Carlos says:

        Hi Stefan,

I did not recieve a green paper with my package can you send me a link to were i can find this?
