Canon PowerShot SX200IS Camera Reviewed

Canon’s PowerShot SX200 IS is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with 12x optical zoom, 28mm wide angle, 4x digital zoom and optical image stabilization. It offers Face Detection, Blink detection and Smart Auto scene selection functions and is based on DIGIC4 image processor.
DigitalCameraReview has tested the camera and comments:
It’s a solid, better-than-average performer in most respects, with great zoom range, wide-ranging control options to please everyone from novices to enthusiasts, a lucid interface, 720p video capture, and decent construction. Even with all of this, though, the SX200 comes off as just a little – dare we say it? – boring.
Pros:
- Slimmest PowerShot SX yet
- Speedy, reliable performance
- Smooth interface and great auto modes
- Excellent zoom range
- 720p video capture
Cons:
- Several mildly irritating optical concerns
- Noisy images above ISO 400
- Manual controls could be easier to use
- Pop-up flash is flimsy
