Lenovo IdeaPad S12 Ion Netbook

Update: Intel GMA 950 version is now available for $499 and the VIA-powered version has also been released.

Lenovo announced the new IdeaPad S12 that is the first netbook to have NVIDIA’s Ion graphics chipset equipped. By combining Intel’s Atom and NVIDIA’s Ion graphics platform, the S12 offers an enhanced graphics processing ability.

Lenovo’s IdeaPad S12 is powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive and of course the Ion chipset. It comes with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 LCD display, a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, WiFi and Bluetooth. Other than 4-in-1 card reader, the new 12-inch netbook has an ExpressCard slot. There is also an HDMI connector.

Lenovo IdeaPad S12 runs Windows XP Home. It will be released in June starting at $449.
