the model is very cool, the noise cancellation module seems sophisticated too. i have a model MDR-NC22/BLK, that is one model earlier from sony in the same series, having a 13 mm driver, it delivers clear and crispy sound but but lack bass. This new model having a 16 mm driver will obviously have stronger bass(16 mm driver are known for that). Another drawback of the older model is that there is a small hiss sound when canceling noise which is noticeable, hope that Sony has improve the cancellation module.
Overall i wud say that the model is very impressive
