Samsung SATA mini-card PCIe SSD for Netbooks

Samsung announced that it has developed a SATA mini-card solid state drive (SSD) that is designed for use in mobile devices such as netbooks, MID and UMPC. The SATA mini-card SSD uses SATA 3.0Gb/s interface and is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.
Samsung’s netbook-oriented SSD is produced using 40nm-class process technology and has a mini-PCI Express (PCIe) form factor that is 80 percent smaller than a 2.5-inch hard drive. The company’s new mini-card form factor, with a highly robust interface, makes an already rugged SSD even less susceptible to damage from jarring, jostling and dropping.
Samsung SATA mini-card offers a sequential read rate of 200MB/s and a write speed of 100MB/s. It weighs just 8.5g and is only 3.75mm thick.
