Vodafone Access Gateway Femtocell

Vodafone UK introduces the Vodafone Access Gateway that is the first femtocell cellular extender introduced in Europe. The Access Gateway is a compact box designed to improve customers’ mobile phone signal in their homes.
Users just plug the device into home broadband line and they can enjoy an improved and more reliable 3G coverage. The Access Gateway works with all 3G phones and is able to handle up to four voice calls at the same time.
The Gateway femtocell is available from free or as part of an inclusive price plan from as little as GBP15 a month. It is also available as a one off purchase for GBP160 or a monthly charge from as little as GBP5.

I wonder if “plug in to your broadband” means “Ethernet connection with Internet access” or it actually means it needs a DSL/cable connection. The latter will be a bit rubbish I think because it will get in the way of your router, VPNs, etc
It means it will connect via an ethernet connection in to your DSL modem/router.
