Pentax Optio W80 Rugged Digital Camera

Pentax has just announced the Optio W80 rugged digital camera that is not only waterproof but also dustproof, coldproof, and shockproof enough to withstand impact from a fall of one meter. The camera can be used in sub-freezing temperatures -10 degrees C (14 degrees Fahrenheit).

Optio W80 is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom, 28mm wide angle, Face Detection, Super Maxro mode and a 2.5-inch LCD screen. It features the Pixel Track Shake Reduction (SR) and also Digital SR and Movie SR. Smile Capture and Blink Detection is also available.

Pentax W80 can record 1280x720p HD video at 30fps. It will be released in July 2009 for $299.95.
