by Sze | Filed under MultiMedia
Monster launches the iCarPlay Wireless 1000 FM Transmitter for iPod players and iPhone. The device allows you to listen to your iPhone or iPod on your car’s FM radio. It features the AutoScan 3D Technology that scans the entire FM spectrum three times and locks in the clearest FM frequency available.

The iCarPlay Wireless 1000 has a 12V lighter adapter for charging iPod and iPhone. The USB port on the adapter can also charge any USB devices. Other than using in cars, you may want to use the FM transmitter at home or office by plugging the iCarPlay to your PC’s USB port.
The iCarPlay Wireless 1000 is priced at $99.95. There is also the $19.95 iCarPlay Cassette Adapter 800 allows playback of your iPod/iPhone using cassette tape player.

Just got one. I live in Philly, and it’s horrible. Still very noisy. I used to use my roadtrip, but its not compatible with my new iphone. The station I used to use previously on the roadtrip (which was almost all the way decent) is coming up with static on the icarplay 1000. If I plug in my roadtrip and my old ipod, barely any problems.
The Autoscan feature keeps setting a preset to a very strong oldies station. I’m not confident that it’s working as advertised.
I’m planning on returning it an getting a new radio with an AUX input. I’m sick of fighting with these FM transmitters, and a new radio is about the price of this. Plus, it’ll hopefully have bluetooth.
