Samsung Spinpoint F3 two-platter 1TB Hard Drive

Samsung announced the new Spinpoint F3 1TB hard drive that utilizes two 500 GB per platter disks. The 3.5-inch Spinpoint F3 hard drive operates at 7200RPM and provides up to a 30 percent higher performance than a three-platter 1 TB drive.
Samsung’s F3 hard drive features the SilentSeek and NoiseGuard low noise operation technologies. It uses 3.0Gbps SATA interface and has either 16MB or 32MB buffer memory. 500GB model is now available and the 1TB model will be shipped in August.
