Netgear introduces the XAVB1004 Home Theater Internet Connection Kit that is designed to extend your home network and connect your home theater to a Powerline network via standard electrical outlets.
The kit includes the XAV101 Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter that is plugged into your broadband modem or router and the XAV1004 Powerline AV Adapter with 4-Port Ethernet Switch that share the internet connection to up to four devices, such as gaming console, BD-Live-enable Blu-ray player, TiVo..etc. Netgear XAVB1004 offers 200Mbps bandwidth that is enought for HD video streaming and 128-bit AES data encryption. It is compatible with HomePlug AV.

I use Roku for video streaming and wanted to buy another Roku for the patio, but patio is too far for WiFi and no easy way to run cable.
Found the Netgear XAVB1004 at Best Buy and figured if it did not work, Besy Buy would take if back.
But the Netgear XAVB1004 out of the box with no setup, allowed the Roku to deliver HD quality video just like a direct wire to the router.
My home wiring is 60 years old, but the Netgear XAVB1004 had no problem.
For another test, connebted my notebook PC directly to the Netgear XAVB1004 and tested download speed at 4.4 Mb versus 4.9 Mb direct wired to the router.
Great item for any internet use.
