Telus LG Keybo 2 QWERTY Phone

Telus Mobility, Canadian carrier, launches the LG Keybo 2 QWERTY phone, that is basically the Canada version of the Verizon LG enV3. The Keybo 2 is a clamshell phone with a 2.6-inch internal display and a 1.56-inch external display. You can find standard number keys outside and QWERTY keyboard inside the phone.
Keybo 2 has a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot. The QWERTY phone is compatible with Telus Navigator and the carrier’s CDMA 3G network. It is available for $99.99 with a 3-year contract.

I bought the LG Keybo 2 brand new and on the first day using it it started to power down automatically after long texts. I imediately exchanged for a brand new one at store. Well after only using it for hours the same thing happened with the second phone. 2/2 LG Keybo 2 powers down after random texts. Gonna try one more from a different store then on to something else. It is a shame this phone has glitches because it is an excellent phone otherwise for what you pay.
LG phones are garbage.
I’ve had 3 different LGs in the past 6 years – including the Keybo2 – and every one of them began shutting off on their own, even after I got them “fixed”. They are low-quality, unreliable, disposable phones. Get a Blackberry or iPhone. Way better quality, but more expensive.
I have had my Keybo2 for 14 months and not once had I experienced any glitches. My phone has never been toyed with, dropped or mistreated in any manner. I never had it shutting down on me nor has it done anything that was posted here. I guess I was fortunate and got a good quality phone when the Keybo2 assembly line was running like crazy. The bottom line is, I suggest you take care of any cell phone you might be getting and treat it with the upmost respect. I love my Keybo2 and I dont plan on having it in for repairs any time soon. I must say that I love the querty keyboard and the flash for the 3.0 pixel camera. Over all, I recommend this lil cookie

i’ve had this phone for a while now, and i had to return it once, only because it had like.. a dent in the side when i baught it, and im picky (: anyways, im rough with my phones, i drop them all the time, when i get pissed off at someone when im talking on it, or just in general, i throw it, things like that, and mine is still perfectly fine. no signs of it shutting off randomly, nothing like taht. i admitt, if you text non-stop, the battery dies kinda quick, but thats no big deal.
i dont get why everyone is complaining about it, mine works fine.
i want this phone but people say they break when dropped is that true?

I have just purchased this phone online so I will have to wait for it to be sent to me still. I now am a little discouraged considering I read all the horrible feeback about the phone. Right now I have a pink blackberry flip phone but that phone shuts off randomly and freezes ALL the time. I do love blackberry phones and I had this one long ago also. (2 of the same blacberry phones but had 1 and then got another) I feel like it is time for a switch, so I decided on this one. I am just going to switch my current plan over to my new phone when I get it. Does anyone have anything good to say and make be again believe that I made the right decision?
I had posted before (Aug 10th) that I had no problems with either keybos’. I had both, and at that time recently purchased the keybo 2 to replace the original keybo (stolen on vacation).
Since then I have had freezing, automatic shutting off, and even when locked – it would dial randomly on its own. I would see texts sent weeks previously all of a sudden show up in my drafts!! Sometimes the phone would change my external screen wallpaper on its own!!!
I got so fed up I just bought a new phone last week.
I would not get this phone. It was good for about 2 months.
I had no problems with the original keybo. But the Keybo2 was good at first, then the problems started to happen gradually and more frequently as time went on.
Can you return it Amanada? There are obviously major flaws in the hardware design. Too many people have the same problems.
Kay So im thinking of getting this phone and mostly all i have read was that it’s not worth your money and much other things. But the thing is i wont be going on the web or calling anyone i’ll just be texting will that be any different??

So i dropped my keybo in water last night. i took the battery out i dont know if its wrecked or not though. it wont turn on yet so im gonna give it a few days to air out. I was wondering though where the sim card is on the phone?
There is no SIM card Christina. It’s a CDMA phone by Qualcomm. There is a sticker on the back bottom that notes this on the phone.

ive got this phone in july sometime, and already, i cant send pictures or videos, and if i try the phone shuts down. and it keeps shutting down randomly. the battery power doesnt last very long either, ive also lately been having some troubles with telus. bu the keyboard is very handy seeing as im a huge texter. i dont really know yet whether or not i would recomend this phone to someone, its great for the first little while.
So… When i’m in the middle of writing a message, the incoming one comes up and it’s super annoying. Is there anyway that I can change a setting so it will NOT pop up while im reading/writing a message?

Can I change phone mode from word or alpha? I want it to “learn” words so it will auto pop up possible words. Makes texting so much easier but this phone doesn’t have it as an option. What’s it called anyway?
It does have t9 or word buut only on the front because if its open you have a whole qwerty key board so there is no point. but if you hit ok to unlock, press ok again for the menu, go to messaging, go down to create new or press 2, and after you enter in who you want to recieve the txt then go down to the place were the body of the txt will be entered press ok for options, go to entry mode (or press 2) and then go to word (or press 1) and wah-la! you have word on the LG keybo 2

It’s a crap phone. I haven’t had it for a year and already getting what I’ve dubbed ‘The White Screen of Doom’. I would not suggest getting this phone. Go buy yourself an iPhone! (and not through telus)
My Keybo2 won’t hold a charge, will not charge while linked to computer, only car charger and I can not make calls while it is charging. Highly unhandy. Otherwise I like it. I’m a huge texter so the keyboard is great!
I’ll be taking it back to retailer to address the charging issues though.
okay please help.got a new keybo2 like a week ago and if it is fully charged it will last me about a day an a half,,what the#### is going on is anyone have a prob with keeping there phone charged.also mine didnt come with a micro sd card they didnt tell me that,is it sapost to?othier then having to charge it every othier day it is a cool phone so please let me no if it is just my phone that isnt holding its charge well or that is how the phone is,oh and no all i did is listen to like 3 songs and sent 2 text so not like i used it alot to go dead.

i consider it was a bit rushed, and left out some options that not many people discuss about. Everyone is aware of that the majority new smartphones have web, so why present that primary perform at its bear minimum. Scroll up scroll down zoom in zoom out. Actually? which new cellphone doesnt do this? How bout talk about how the textual content rearranges itsself. Additionally the texting, very poor review. Why didnt you mention you should utilize the mic and text together with your voice? Omitted ALOT of other more vital features
so i’ve been reading a lot of reviews about the LG Keybo 2, and almost every review said that they’ve had problems with their Keybo shutting off randomly .. is that true? because i am considering to get this phone because my friend as the LG Keybo 1 and her’s is fine, never shut off, so i’m wondering its just the Keybo 2 that has the shutting off issues.

As much as it sucks if you’re Doing something important, It does. and My mom, Has the LG Keybo 1, And it does not. So It has to just be the LG Keybo 2, Which does.
Not true… if you actually read on the lG keybo 1 there is also the same problems but it starts after a few months and my friend has LG keybo 2 and nuthing has happened to hers and my brother has a LG keybo 1 and nothing has happened to that either. it might be what these people are going through such as :Bell, telus, and other companies but both my friend and brother went through bell and nothing has happened

I have had both keybo 1 and 2. Neither have had issues with randomly shutting itself off. It’s a great phone – depending how you want to use it. I don’t make a lot of phone calls, nor do i browse the web, but great for texting.
i dont know for sure if the Keybo 2 does it or not, im not getting it until tomorrow,
but i know that with my Keybo 1, if im deleting a text message, or a picture, or basically anything, and another text message comes in at the same time, my phone will shut off.
Everyone i know who has the 2 says thats when it uusually happens.
Ive had my Keybo 1 since January 1st, and already, my speakers dont work,and my phone freezes if i try to use my space bar.Its been through a hell of a lot of drunk nights, though, so its understandable.
i wanna get this cellphone so bad! whenever i go to Walmart and see it there i just LOVE to look at it! it looks pretty awesome to me but there are a lot of negative comments about it so ya

Mine kept on shutting off and on randomly, and then one day it wouldn’t turn on(But I drop my phone a lot, that’s probably why..)
Anyways, I sent it into repair, (75$ deposit) and now it works perfectly
they probably made the phone that way, so that it would obviously be a kick ass phone, but have problems pretty much as soon as you get it, so you have to send it to get fixed.
Not like they dont make enough money ripping people off.
My keybo 1 is through telus, i put 50$ on there once, added a 15$ messaging feature, and answered ONE call for TWO minutes, and two days later, my phone had 16 $ and claimed that i never purchased the feature, yet it took the money for it, and it showed up on my telus mobility site that i paid for it, but telus wouldnt give me my money back
Thats how they make their money.
they could easily have made all the phones work properly, and if they didnt notice until a few months later, they could have recalled them and repaired the issues, but instead, they let it slide, to make a profit ):

Their are hundreds of complaints about this phone turning off randomly. Go to this website, it has a way to fix this problem or limit the problem.

Like this phone alot, I only have one problem and im having trouble finding a solution. When I bought the phone, I thought it was an MP3, and techincally, it is. However Telus phones only play music bought (at exorbitant prices) from the Telus store. Has anyone found a way to play music they already have through a micro SD?
Um, if you buy a memory card you can put music on the card and play it through your phone. Or at least with mine you can. It comes with another card that you slip the smaller one into and put that in your laptop if you have the memory card slot. Or your phone should come with a cord you plug into your computer and you can just drag and drop files into the music folder.

sam i have the exact same problem. mine shuts off randomly all the time. and it doesnt even vibrate or sound to say it turned off either. it turns off on my desk in my hand and in my pocket etc. i never drop it nad it is treated very well
Had the same problem with mine turning off: I reseated the battery and it’s been fine since.
However …. anyone else having trouble erasing drafts? Nothing seems to work. Keep getting “picture msg failed to be erased”
i have it sometimes i just have to turn off my phone and turn it on again then my drafts usually get erased

Anyone have issues with the LG Keybo II??? Mine keeps shutting off randomly. I have it sitting on my desk, fully charged, and it has shut off 3 times in the past hour. SO effin mad. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Oh BTW I got the phone Dec 15th and it is cared for very well, never been dropped or anything like that.
I have the SAME problem! Mine shuts off all the time when i go on the internet. and i just got mine not even a week ago and it is in amazing condition. It makes me so mad!!

I have had this phone for 5 days so far – and I am really pleased with it. Phone calls are clear and loud and there are so many features that it’ll take a while to figure them all out. Good quality, nice looking, and awesome battery life. I haven’t charged it yet and the battery is still at 80%! The keyboard is larger than a lot of others with the QWERTY feature, though the phone isn’t intelligent enough to make the first letter of each sentence a capital which is a little annoying.
There is only one disappointment for me – while charging the external screen is always on, and there is no way to disable it as per LG support. Just annoying when you try to sleep with it charging, even with the phone turned upside down. Anyway, minor detail and still overall 9/10 for this phone for my use after only a few days.

Sorry for the confusion; I plugged it in for one minute but unplugged it since I wasn’t yet sure if this was a problem with the phone or if it was supposed to stay on. I called LG support the next day. I don’t think the 1 minute of charging really prolonged the battery life in any significant way!
Good phone… I love looking at it, touching it, using it…. makes me feel like a million bucks carrying around a superb piece of electronics. A must have for texters…. The full keyboard is incredibly convenient.
