2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6

German car maker BMW officially announced the 2010 ActiveHybrid X6, the world’s first Sports Activity Coupe with full hybrid drive. The ActiveHybrid combines the combustion engine with electric motors to create a powertrain with new levels dynamic performance and efficiency.
The 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid X6 is boosted by a 400 hp twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine and two electric synchronous motors delivering 91 hp and 86 hp, offering a maximum system output of 480 housepower and a 575 lb-ft torque. It takes just 5.4 seconds for the X6 fo to from a standstill to 60mph. The ActiveHybrid X6 can runs exclusively on electric power at up to a speed of 37 mph (60 km/h).
The 2010 ActiveHybrid X6 will make its premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in September and will head to the US in Q4 2009.

Two things stand out with this vehicle: The horsepower and the looks. I can’t imaging how much it will cost, but I think this is definitely the future of hybrids.
