Sont announced the new BDP-N460 networked Blu-ray player. Other than Blu-ray Disc and DVD playback, the BDP-N460 can also stream on-demand content from the BRAVIA Internet Video platform including thousands of movies, TV programs, and music from YouTube, Slacker, and, Netflix.
Sony BDP-N460 provides Full HD 1080/60p and 24p True Cinema output. It supports BD-Live with internet connection. The player includes Sony’s Precision Cinema HD Upscale technology that converts standard-definition signals (480i) to near HD quality. The Precision Drive technology is also available to help detect and correct wobbling discs from three directions, supporting stabilization of warped or scratched Blu-ray Discs and DVDs during playback.
Sony’s new Blu-ray player supports 7.1 channel Dolby(R) TrueHD and Dolby(R) Digital Plus, DTS(R)-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio and is able to output 7.1 channel L-PCM via HDMI after decoding. It supports Blu-ray media, DVD/CD, AVCHD video and JPEG images. It’s front USB port can be used to display photos. Available in October, the Sony BDP-N460 will be priced at about $250.
