Western Digital Scorpio Blue 640GB standard 2.5-inch hard drive

Western Digital introduces the new Scorpio Blue 640GB 2.5-inch hard drive, after the Samsung and Toshiba have debuted their own. WD’s new drive comes with the industry-standard 9.5 mm, 2-disk form factor and is designed for mainstream notebook computers.
The Scorpio Blue 640GB utilize 320 GB-per-platter technology. It has a 30% reduction in overall power consumption. The drive includes WhisperDrive technology for quite operation, ShockGuard technology and IntelliSeek technology to calculate optimum seek speeds to lower power consumption, noise and vibration.
WD Scorpio Blue 640 GB (model WD6400BEVT) is priced at $149.

I have never seen any drive as noisy as this one. DON’T BUY. Try the Samsung 640 GB (I haven’t tried, but I doubt if any drive can be as noisy as this one).
