VIA SurfBoard NetNote 1080p-capable Netbook Platform

VIA announced its new SurfBoard NetNote C885 netbook platform that is capable of 1080p HD playback. Designed for netbooks between 10.2-inch and 12.1-inch, the SurfBoard NetNote platform combines the a choice of VIA C7-M ULV or VIA Nano processors with VIA VX855 media system processor for support for a wide range of digital media technologies and hardware acceleration of H.264, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and VC-1 video formats.

The SurfBoard NetNote is also equipped with VIA Chrome9 HCM IGP for advanced grpahics processign and flawless playback of 1080p HD video. You can expect a HDMI port and VIA Vinyl 8-channel HD audio. The SurfBoad platform include also support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G.
